Hey guys, in doing final tests in our staging environment we ran into a failure with the deployment of the Rage Quit penalty today. This will push its release to tomorrow at 7:30AM EDT/11h30am UTC. There will be no downtime, and the change will be active with the beginning of the 7:30am Faction war turn begins.
This new penalty is being introduced to combat the issue of players rage quitting and negatively affecting the gameplay experience of others in the match. Once enabled, any players detected to be leaving a match mid-game will receive a 10-minute ban from matchmaking. Players have a 30 second grace period from the time they join a game to quit without penalty. NOTE: Disconnects will not be penalized.
Additionally, the AFK measures we released in Season 1 will begin using this tech, adding a 10 minute matchmaking ban to players caught to be abusing AFK.

I appreciate the effort for fighting ragequitters, but before that you should really fix certain crashes the game still experiences since about the first post release patch.
My friend is unable to enjoy playing the game with me because his game crashes around every 3rd match we play. And no, it's not an issue on his side because in the Betas the game ran fine and without crashes for him. Only after the first few patches those crashes started happening, around the time when the memory leak issue was present.
Before punishing leavers you should make sure the 'leavers' you punish are actually leavers, not people whose game crashed on them.
Edit: It seems I missed that you stated that disconnects won't be punished. If that's the case the system will be awesome. I'd still appreciate crash fixes tho
