So, anyone who's spent any amount of time fighting a Kensei knows that their top unblockable finisher does not actually force you to do anything, because no Kensei ever actually lets it go, therefore there is no threat from it, it's just some flashy lights and a quote before the next slow attack or guard break.
But why is this? It's because, as anyone who's spent any amount of time playing Kensei knows, if you let the unblockable through it is going to be parried pretty much 100% of the time. This is because of the window the Kensei has to feint the unblockable. It's too early. Even a player as average as myself knows that once the blade actually starts arcing toward you for any insignificant distance, it's not feintable anymore, and I can parry it 100% guaranteed. Even Raider's unblockable has less of this issue, and it can be done from neutral.
The solutions are simple, however, and I honestly believe these two changes, along with their recent "buffs", are all they need to become at least B tier:
-Increase the window that the chained top finisher can be feinted, by at least 100 to 200 ms
-Let the chained top finisher be feinted at any point during this window, not at a fixed time
Also make their side heavy unblockable because frankly any time you actually use the armor to trade it's so slow it gets blocked anyway, this would at least make parrying it more difficult
good feedback, but that's not the only problem it can also be dodged, ubisoft isn't making good use of block/hit advantage and chip, that's all kensei needs
1. yes you nailed it make the feint more convincing just a little
2. add chip for his heavy mix up
3 give him proper block/hit advantage frames so your opponent cant just dodge the mix up completely
actually I like your idea and think it could possibly be applied to all heavy feints, what do you think?
There is a way to confuse your opponent. After you initiate your top heavy IMMEDIATLY dodge and do a top light then just simply cancel your top heavy (which will cancel itself late. Since you IMMEDIATLY cancelled an attack before, he will think that you wont cancel this time.) You can do a GB or light after that. WORKS EVERY TIME. If your opponent is not stupid you can only do this once in a duel.Originally Posted by Alva- Go to original post
So let me get this straight. people had a lott of issues with wardens ability to cancel the SB at any point in the move. people asked for it to be more commited. and now you want to bring kensey to the point the warden was before all those complains? if you ask for kenseys heavy unblockable to be able to cancel it at any given moment, then i vote for wardens SB ability to work the same. be able to cancel it at any point. further more, you want the side heavies to be unblockable to. how about ubisoft make kenseys every hits unblockable and cancelable? theres one mixup that actualy makes kensey one of the top characters. the fact that he can cancel the unblockable attack into an side dash attack... tou either try to pary it and you get rekd by the sidedash attack, or prepare for that attack and recive the unblockable in the face. plus. the top unblockable its guaranteed after a GBOriginally Posted by Alva- Go to original post
