I have just finished my second playthrough and this time I finished ALL missions before I did El Sueno.
The first time I did the El Sueno mission when I got th prompt I could do it after killing so many buchons etc so I got the first ending and then went on to do rest of missions and got second ending,.

I thought this time if I did all missions first before El Sueno I would get the second ending but no. I just got Sueno is killed and then the credits. After logging on again I got a prompt I could get second ending by replaying El Sueno mission.
I am disappointed as I do not want to do this again (not that I have to).

Also after all missions etc and endings you can still play game but it's as if nothing ever happened previously so would have preferred a definite ending where the story finishes.

Sorry if this spoils it for some but I am presuming everyone knows there are two endings.

I finished a week or so ago, the exact same way you did. I hadn't noticed it before as I was just looking at the 6/6 or 5/5 missions complete. I didn't realize there were 3 other bosses I had to kill before going after Sueno. On the Xbox, its the down D-pad to see for each area if anyone else is left, or, zoom out to just the right level and you'll see them. I wasn't happy with the first ending. I was saying to myself, "this is it"! Then I took care of the other bosses and did the final mission again, was even more "not happy". For me though, some of the post ending missions have taken into account Sueno not being there, guess it depends on the mission itself.

Although it should be obvious to those playing what will happen, I'd suggest editing your title with "spoiler alert" because I'd suspect a lot of people haven't completed the main campaign yet.

Hold on, I'll load it up and reply right away. I suspect though that the missions/bosses remaining may be random depending on some side missions as well. Gimme a min.

Open your map and move your cursor over an area. In the box where it shows your missions you should see something called "Cartel Overview". Mine is shown at the bottom of the area box, outlined in white, and I press the D-Pad down to see it. Inside Cartel Overview will be 1 to 2 boss missions you may not have completed. You'll have to cursor over each area to see which ones you might have missed, and then figure out what key will pull down the Cartel Overview info. I can't tell which bosses I had left. I had 3 to complete to unlock the "other" Sueno ending. They all ended up being low level Buchon bosses. Hope this helps.

Thanks I have looked at cartel overview and cannot find any more bosses to go after. Anyway as I said I have the second ending unlocked, I just have to replay it.

Each character slots 1st playthrough counts as a not 100%-beaten chartel - even if you have done all the bosses. You need to do the mission a 2nd time with the same character while having the chartel beaten 100%.

Thanks I have done it a second time twice on two playthroughs and got second ending. I thought if I did it again with another character and did all the missions first before el sueno I would only have to do his mission once and get second ending. Anyway done it now, not doing it again.

Since this thread contains the spoilers, it seems appropriate to voice my disappointment in at least one of the two endings. The one where Bowman shoots El Sueno ... really? Did Bowman buy the game for me? Why would you take the ending from the paying customers UBI? A video game is NOT a book. I did all the work, I progressed though the story, suffered though bouts of monotony yet pushed on, only to have the end taken from me. I get artistic liberty Ubi, but if the customer pays for the game, let the customer finish it okay.

Still time to redeem yourselves,
1. Have a DLC where you find that El Sueno used a body double, and three new sections opened up whereas you can actively use the Tier 1 update. However, the Rebels are still after you, you spawn in the furthest section of Bolivia and you have to fight your way to the new section to get to El Sueno.

2. Have a DLC where El Sueno serves his term in prison and goes back to Bolivia, where you ^ (same as above)

I completed all missions including el sueno but im stuck on 105 of 106 i have not got the second ending? any ideas would help
