There are around 8 videos on my YouTube just like this. Those are just the ones I've taken the time to upload, I have more. LB swings pretty slow only to wiff on what looks like a clean hit. When this happens I'm usually punished short after. If I swing in the same direction they dodge that's their bad. I'm surprised i haven't seen anyone else post about this. When certain characters side step and swing it's near impossible to counter due to what's seems like an invulnerable moment. If I do block they just side step the other way back and forth. Please adjust this mechanic.
Thank you
While some of the videos on your channel are definitely iffy on whether they dodged it or not (particularly the one with the warlord overhead blocking), most of them look like clean cut dodges of the unblockable or they were out of range. I'll forward the videos to the team, but I'd also suggest you submit the warlord one to support so they can investigate it as a potential bug.
I do agree some of them are iffy but 3 of them you can literally see the blade go through them. I actually got a video today of someone who waited and timed it just right because he knew it would go right through him. At least it seemed that way. It happens all the time. These are just the ones I recorded. If you have a moment go into a private match and try it out with a buddy. I will forward a couple select ones to support thank you for your time sir.
..or if you weren't so biased and bigoted against the game in every tedious, malicious nitpick possible, you'd easily recognize it as just a classic case of limitation of visual representation. Got nothing to do with "core mechanics".Originally Posted by nyrue Go to original post
Despite what you may think, every fighting game revolves around a core set of rules, and it's not as WYSIWYG as you might expect. Sometimes visual representation may not exactly match how such rules are manifested.
Do you complain about every weapon swing you've made near an obstacle which "clipped" a surface and should have been stopped were it in real life -- but was allowed to persist because it was a game, and it didn't trigger "obstacle" flag? Do you complain about not being able to trip over dead bodies when you sprint over them, despite they're clearly there?
They're all visual representations not matching the actual base set of rules in game, because visual representations can't be 100% accurate all the time. Every 3D game is littered with such and it's never more than a minor annoyance. Jump attacks in Tekken series are under the rules that it cannot be blocked at low-guard stance. Try an upward jumping side kick and revel as you see your leg fly over the crouched opponent, and yet magically hits him. No matter how well developed games are, there are still limitations.
Maybe they could have added an extra animation that showed you a deeper "duck-and-evade" motion on a successful dodge in that particular situation, so it gives off better visual representation, but they just didn't for any number of reasons that could be valid.

You're attitude is foul, and reeks of malicious intent to just badmouth everything by twisting the issue at hand with either blatant lies or mouthing off about stuff you don't really know about, in plain ignorance.
As to the op, the dodge I saw in the vid was legit. It happens to every class in game with the exact same set of rules -- it's just that it looks a bit weird when you're holding a polearm.
actually iFrames on dodge is a core mechanic, the game is designed that way, other fighting games use the same tech, but I don't believe it belongs in this game. and yes I do knit pick so what of it I have a right to voice my opinion here as long as its constructive in some form, and if I do sound jaded at all at any point maybe that's because I am, after 500+ hours of gameplay its starting to wear a little thin, between the poor hero balance constant disconnects nickel and diming I've had just about enough,Originally Posted by kweassa1 Go to original post
He dodges the same direction as my attack. My weapon goes through him. That is not a clean dodge. That is a bad mechanic (referring to iframes). If your standing in my range and dodge the same way as my attack. You should be hit. I don't get the debate here. It happens to all classes does not make it Ok. I understand video games are video games but this is black and white. There is no grey.Originally Posted by kweassa1 Go to original post
If my weapon going through them is a dodge than yes. Its like going to war with a weapon full of blanks and not knowing. I swear up and down I hit them but I didn't. My weapon is clearly passing through the body. I'm almost curious if I'm watching the same videos you are. It's a polearm and the striking end is passing through the body. It's like you're telling me an orange is red in color over and over again. It's definitely orange.Originally Posted by AzureSky. Go to original post
