3:00...is that the kick...cause if so that is way faster and would be much better to counter light spammers and add another fast option out of HS...i am tired of getting my lights parried out of hidden stance...talk about stamina drain
Thanks so much for providing the vid. That's the spin kick I was talking about, alright.

Looks much cooler than the jump kick in my opinion

    You mean during startup?

Those move cant be parried, and if you guess wrong and sidestep they have a free gb. HS allow us to both dodge the move and counter a gb. (at the cost of stamina, and regen penalty)
How can you counter GB with HS? GB is the only move that HS can't prevent from happening.

I think he meant that in the way it counters a UB-GB 50/50.

Hm...I wonder if what he meant is that you can CGB even if you're during startup of HS. At least something like that is in this linked post from reddit. I didn't try this so I wonder how exactly it works. Like does HS have to be fully up in order to CGB worked or maybe CGB works all the time.

All the time, its a dodge that doesn't incur recovery frames which is what prevents CGB. No recovery frames, no inability to CGB.

It's great to know. Sometimes I was afraid of using HS because of GB...interesting. I need to check that out. For example do I have to release button that invokes HS or not?

If you got to "Advanced Practice" you can try for yourself against a bot. In my experience this isn't completely representative because of the lack of lag, but in general I found it best to CGB slightly sooner than releasing the HS stance.

It may very well be just in my head, but I found trying to time the release and then CGB to result in not CGBing at all. While keeping HS active and CGB too soon results in a kick. There seems to be a very small window where coming out of HS won't let the CGB go through, but I cannot confirm this with much certainty. Going into HS doesn't seem to have this problem though.

PS. I'm on PC and have GB bound tot the spacebar, which I tend to smash a couple of times, again due to lag not always registering the input properly.

Thanks for suggestions. I have GB bound to mouse side button so I use different hand to HS and GB. In the evening I'm going to check all that out.

BTW I too find testing things like HS against BOTs not representative. Crown example is Conq charged attacks which I quite easily HS when fighting against BOT but it's much harder when playing against player.

ehh. Because I didn't realize that hidden stance has no recovery time, I got srsly bad habbits. Every time I hit that hidden stance, my finger never reaches CGB button on time if required . Now I have to loose next 20-30 games just to change habits

I've got the same problem when trying to convince myself to use HS at all. I had to focus on actually pressing proper button. And there was side effect - few times, when there was some action going on and I was panicking all the way, I was pressing HS instead of dodging wondering why my character don't move
