    Same here

I have the exact same problem... The only way to fix this for me is to close steam but it's not very convenient.

i think i tried closing steam before but it didnt work
i had a guess it might be something to do with the overlay system

it always has something to do with overlay

    these are my specs

    Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87
    CPU: i5-4670K CPU @ 4GHz
    Cooling: Corsair H100i

GPU: ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 970 (received 88$ refund from amazon on this
Sound card: Asus Xonar Essence Stx
    SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
HDD: Two WD Green 3TB - 6TB Overall
    PSU: Corsair TX750 V2
    Case: Cooler Master: HAF X
    Case fans: X2 Noctua NF-A14 industrialPPC-3000RPM

    Mouse: Logitech G9x
    Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate
    Controller: Logitech F710
    Racing wheel: Logitech G27
    Monitor: Dell UltraSharp U2412M
    Speakers: Microlab Solo 7c
    Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-M50
    Microphone: CAD U37

    OS: Windows 7

Edit" i think i might found the thing causing the issue
it might have something to do with connected controllers
i have two f710 controllers connected at all times

the problem started showing after the day i tried connecting my G27 and see if it works with this game
the game freaked out when i connected the wheel and strange things happened i remember

currently as i said i have two F710 connected i loaded the game and removed one of them and the game was running fine without the issue
then i plugged the second controller in again and the game kept running fine

i am not sure but the issue might have something to do with connected controllers
because the game is running fine right now and i didnt even restart my pc or anything
