Ubi Soft have you not listend to your player base? I have recently come back to for honor after a long break while waiting for improvements to the game. While I have read and seen much Improvement to the game. There are still some Issues that have remained since Launch. That have still yet to be addressed. One of these Problems still seems to be the guard break system. More Specifically the Countering of guard break. While I have read in patch notes that guard break and countering guard break has returned to the state it was in beta. I have to ask. Why is the window for timing the guard break still Incrediably small. When 90 percent of the player base Achieves victories through Guard breaks. As I have stated in the past. This window of timing more or less needs to be changed or Increased For a bigger Window of timing. My basis for this is as not all players have the same reaction timing. That should have been taken into consideration when designing the guard break feature and its counter for guard break. Countering guard break should be somewhat more of a button mashing feature then a straight up small window of timing. This is to specifically compensate for those who have a smaller reaction timing then those players who have a faster reaction timing.
Personally I disagree. I preferred guard break when it was even more difficult, because it was skill based and dependent on getting that timing right. As it is now, pretty much everyone will counter every guard break you throw at them unless it's a guaranteed one after a parry or dodge. If you make the reaction timing any bigger then there's almost no point in having guard breaks outside of the guaranteed ones.
I would propose that they make guard break into a single button press event again, instead of this button mashing rubbish we've got at the moment. I would also suggest though that guard can no longer interrupt certain moves freely, like on heavy attack startups.
So you prefer a system that makes it even harder for those who don't have the same reaction time as you? I agree the game should be skill based. But if you look at most classes. Aka your vangaurds. Heavys. And Hybrids. They have a series of Not only Unblockables that can go straight into a guard break. But countering those Guard breaks is near Impossible in the game at the moment. Espicialy when you can chain Unblockables into guard breaks such as the Lawbringer can. That's not "SKILL BASED" that is exploiting game mechanics. To bring the game to a true skill based level. Unblockables should not be able to chain into guard breaks Period. Give everyone the Ability to Counter Guard Breaks without needing a Small Window of reaction time. There have been a few players that have asked for larger GB windows, but there is currently no plans to change the gb window. Counter-guardbreaks are meant to be somewhat difficult or else guardbreaks in general would be useless. However, we have found that a majority of players are able to counter-guardbreaks consistently with practice. Keep working on those counters and it will become second nature in time.![]()

"when it was" it never was mate, GB was always the same, even in open beta, they fixed a live version bug after release that allowed the enemy to get a free gb if the 2 players did a gb and one of the players beat the other by little ms, the player that lose that would get guard broken and couldnt tech it.
That got fixed but the timing is still the same, in my opinion the tech should be more harder to do since right now EVERYONE can tech gb almost 90% of the time.
