I am still a bit confused how this works, so last night I helped a friend with a mission when he activated it on his end I got an option to assist so I did, once completed it said Mission Complete and I got the XP but it was White not Yellow, how did doing this mission with him help with my story progression because its not listed in any areas as a completed mission
Well, what's supposed to happen is if you join someone on a mission that is locked for you, you'll get the XP but it won't count toward your progress (I believe this is tip 11/91). But some people have reported that doing a locked mission has unlocked what's suppose to come after it anyway, so it was counting toward their progress. Usually white means you're 'replaying' it as far as I knew. But maybe that's also what it shows when you've done it, but it wasn't unlocked?
Note not all missions are linked to a province. Some of them are only tied to the portrait on the cartel tree view if you zoom all the way out on the map. Specifically the missions relating to the four underbosses, the four heads, Sueno, and Sandoval.
Hey,
Here is what our FAQ states when it comes to story progression in co-op if it helps:
Even if you are not at the same point in the game as the friend you join, you will still progress as you play with them. Whatever progression you make with your friends will be saved in your own progression. Instead of only helping your friends’ progression when you join their game, you will also be working towards your own progression. Moreover, if you are behind your friends, you will still be able to complete missions that they may have already completed.
I'll have to check on that white/yellow intel as I have not noticed that myself.
I figured it out, the mission I helped my firend do was part of the El Commandante missions, I forgot to redeem the Ubisoft reward for this "add on" so thats why it only let me assist and not join, I have since redeemed the reward, it did not mark the mission complete after redeeming so I will just do it again
