Howdy,
Yesterday I tried playing Far Cry 4 again but every time it starts up it just gets stuck in the splash screen and crashed instantly. Can anyone help me out ?
My laptop has an "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHX, 2592Mhz, 4 cores" and a gtx 960m. This game used to work in the past but it doesn't work anymore...
The same goes for my Assassins Creed Black Flag game which suffers from the same issue. I don't have any overclocking software and i tried running the game in compatibility mode (Windows 7,8). Is there any chance someone can help me out. I'm sick and tired of searching on youtube and other forums since nothing is getting rid of the problem...
I also tried disabling the Uplay overlay but it still doesn't work.
Best Regards
puffolino

And if your running windows 10 make sure you launch both Steam and Uplay as Run As ADMINISTRATOR
this game was shipped well before windows 10 did ...and yes you may need to take that extra step to run the game
this games engine was created years before windows 10 shipped and that change may needed to allow the game to write any save files and or configuration files , windows 10 may handle file security \ permissions in a different way, then previous operating systems did.
if you have a problem... try this
right click on the games .exe file
select properties
select the compatability tab
check the box that says run as Administrator
set it to run in a windows 7 compatabilty mode
you can also run the windows 10 compatablilty trouble shooter from that same window
also with a GTX 960 M .............only use drivers from your laptop makers website
yea they may be older .. but new drivers from Nvidia are not guaranteed to work and may cause problems ..that warning is on every laptop driver on Nvidia's site
As part of the NVIDIA Notebook Driver Program, this is a reference driver that can be installed on supported NVIDIA notebook GPUs. However, please note that your notebook original equipment manufacturer (OEM) provides certified drivers for your specific notebook on their website. NVIDIA recommends that you check with your notebook OEM about recommended software updates for your notebook. OEMs may not provide technical support for issues that arise from the use of this driver.
get and use DDU and perform a clean install of your drivers from YOUR laptop makers site
Hi All,
Even I'm facing the same issue here with Far cry 4 crashes, now i dont have idea what's happening. Wasted almost 5 to 6 hours for this, trying to load the game again and again. Please let me know if somebody has any answers what we need to do. Its really frustrating after paying for the game and not able to play the game.
Does your PC fully meet the minimum system requirments for the title ?
Dual Core cpu's are not supported ..yes you need a quad core cpu

Same problem. I get the 2 production company video clips then the game crashes. can't even get to the menu. Purchased through steam. Dug through explorer and tried to run as admin, wouldn't even boot the game. Tried to run in compatibility mode for win 8 and 7, no dice there either. Would love some suggestions.
