QUESTION: Quality of the DLC? Feels lazy and cheap.

So I have both DLC for this game.

I started fallen ghosts yesterday night.

I just cannot shake the feeling that both DLC just feel lazy and cheap considering they're paid DLC.

Obviously narco road is just completely absurd, with all the monster trucks and nitro boosts etc. I mean seriously someone needs to be fired over that!

    1) both DLC take place in areas of the base game. No new areas were created for the DLC. Which considering we are paying for all this I feel is pretty lazy.
I have to say the fallen ghosts jungle area is underwhelming.

    2) The knife takedowns in fallen ghosts DLC feels oddly really clunky. For some reason the camera is FIXED in place when you do a knife take down, as opposed to the main game takedowns where you can pan the camera around. It just feels poorly implemented and cheap. Some of the knife kill animations are quite nice but still.

    3) I really don't like that you have to use a character that is already upgraded. Some of these upgrades I would never use because they make the game either too easy or unrealistic.
I would've preferred to be able to just create a new character from scratch and upgrade him myself.
I mean seriously how much punishment can you now take in Fallen Ghosts, and you can now be revived TWICE!
Urrrrrghhhh. Ubisoft it's like you just don't get your own game..?

    4) The gun variety is very limited. The player is restricted to using those stupid wacky reskinned weapons...
    I hate that.

I just think a lot of this stuff was poorly thought out and clearly rushed.

How do other folks feel about the quality of the DLC?

    1) Narco Road was bad but it had to be on the same map as the main story as that is where the cartel etc were operating. Fallen Ghosts I liked and again this was in the same area as the main game as you are downed in that region and have to take on Unidad who are moving into areas you have already taken down. That all makes sense to the story. Also in Fallen Ghosts they have changed the weather etc to offer a different feel and I'm certain the plants are bigger.

    2) Agree

    3) The whole point of the story is you have completed the main game and ready to leave Bolivia. You are then shot down so of course you will still have all your upgrades.

    4) Skins do nothing for me. I like to find a gun I like and stick with it

    Main Game = 7/10
    Narco Road = 2/10
    Fallen Ghosts = 8/10

    The reskinned guns bizarre....

It's like Ubisoft - this ain't Saints Row.

Like it's worrying that they need to be reminded of this when they're developing a Ghost Recon game.

The base game is fine - thank goodness. Make Ghost Recon open world - that worked.
But Narco Rd and over the top zany re-skinned weapons ... it's just stupid!

I want Ubisoft to publically admit that Narco Rd was a mistake.

The more I play Fallen Ghosts and noting the concept for Narco Rd - I think Ubisoft Dev's Team were burned out after the the base game was finished...

I think Fallen Ghosts and especially Narco Rd just shows you they were really struggling for new ideas and ways to evolve the gameplay.

Fallen Ghosts - What we got were heavies that can take 5 bullets to the freakin head without dying.

And the new archetypes are silly. They really are. Invisible enemies is a bit of a stretch for me. I most countries military's don't have that kind of tech. Does anyone?

And to center it around the most generic and boring, riot helmet wearing Enemy in the game UNIDAD??

I think both DLC's were misjudged at best, at worst insultingly lazy. Fallen Ghosts is certainly the far better of the two, at least it fits the 'fiction' -- although exactly what that is now, I'd have to ask Ubisoft!
