This game has truly been something unique and special. A unique and fun new form of fighter. Been playing since day 1 almost every day and have really had a blast.
It really saddens me to say I'm done.
The balance team has just ruined it for me. Whoever decided that 50/50s were the answer has killed it. I don't understand how they came to this conclusion. Fighters usually work to remove 50/50s and vortex not add more.
Why did people complain about shugoki, Warden, conqueror and warlord? Because they had free in's and 50/50s. So what do the devs do? They give lawbringer a 50/50 off BLOCK, which doesn't work half the time when I try to dodge as raider I still get hit. They give my beloved raider essentially a 50/50 with his zone attack. Warden is still a 50/50 crapfest. Warlord can still headbutt spam you forever. They introduce two new characters that have ******* 50/50 moves (I know cent is not that hard to beat but that heavy cancel into gb mid combo is flat Stoopid). Shinobi is no fun at all to fight against, just continually backs up and waits for a chance to kick you. I get no joy out of beating any of these characters. I didn't really beat them because I'm more skilled, I beat them because I guessed correctly.
All they had to do to fix the turtle meta was add CHIP damage, like every other fighter on the planet has done to combat turtles. People would go for more parries, get faked out more by feints, maybe dodge attacks more creating OPENINGS.
Lastly, flicker... Seriously... You can't fix flicker? It's been there since day 1 lol.
Rant over, I love this game, been killed by balance devs, I'm out.

When we discussed the potential for future 50/50s it was because we thought it added a cool extra dimension to fighting in For Honor. I will bring up your issues with 50/50s to the team however so they can go back and take a second look at their plans regarding it.
As to the turtle meta changes, they are coming soon - and yes, we've heard a ton about chip damage and it is something we've been seriously considering.
Flicker - I don't know when it's getting fixed but we are aware of it. Please keep in mind that we've had a ton of things we've had to work to fix - from trying to make stability improvements, to balance changes, to game-breaking bugs and even pre-planned new content releases. And so sometimes, we can't get to as many things as we'd like, or as in timely a manner as we wish we could.
The best part about them adding a 50/50 to LB on block is that it encourages turtling lol, ya know, the one thing people have been complaining about since this game came out.
Have to play passive against most of the line up anyways, but against a LB, you have to play even more passive, because you don't want him to start his stupid shove ******** and play rock paper scizzors.
Well said. I think you accurately expressed how a lot of players feel about this game. From the ridiculousness of revenge stat stacking, something that became apparent at the end of the open beta, to the slew of character imbalances, and abuse or spamability of unblockable moves, there have been a series of design decisions that just make you scratch your head. Coupled with the snails pace that they analyze and implement changes, has just left players with disappointment after disappointment. There was some hope after they finally nerfed the ridiculousness of revenge, but all that good faith was undone with the inclusion of two broke AF heros in season two. Their design and decision to include heros that rely on spamming cheesy, unblockable moves just demonstrably proves that they have no idea how to balance this game.
There is only so much disappointment and let down you can take, no matter how hard they say they're aware there's issues and they plan to change, there comes a time to end the relationship and move on.
