Hello everyone. I have just bought Far Cry Primal. I have no experience on other entries of this series, but as I love Prehistory, I felt drawn to this game. Also, the Survivor/Expert mode appeals to me, as I would like this to be the most realistic experience possible. But, I'm afraid it will be frustrating or tiring in the long run. My question is: would you recomend Survivor/Expert (NO PERMADEATH!) for a new player like me? Do you think it's indeed the most realistic mode? I heard that almost everything can two-hit kill you. Is that true? As in, can a wolf kill you in two bites? Not that I have a problem with hard games (loved Alien: Isolation on Hard!), but I would like to know just what to expect, in the short and long terms, and if this mode is for me or not.
Thank you very much.
I believe it would be frustrating for someone new to Far Cry games. I would play on easy for awhile, just to get a feel for the game's systems and interface. I prefer to play on medium or hard difficulty, but with no HUD. That adds to the challenge, for instance, you need to navigate using rivers and landmarks, rather than just by an icon.
I don't know if a wolf could kill you in two bites, although maybe it could early in the game if it jumped on top of you. I will say that a sabertooth can kill you with almost no warning, just by jumping on you, pinning you to the ground, and chomping in: one bite and done. So if you are going to play on Survivor/Expert, I would not recommend permadeath.
I agree that the Survivor mode is vastly superior to the regular/arcade mode in terms of realism.
Good luck!
