Hey everyone,
I tried contacting the live support of For Honor, however I was told that they do not respond to gameplay feedback.
My question is, can anyone explain to me the logic between this - from what I know, the speed of a (for example) Kensei's side LIGHT ATTACK is 700ms, and the speed of a Centurion's heavy is 500ms? Of course, if I am mistaken, someone please correct me. Now, I want an actual response from a representative of Ubisoft, please tone down on comments' like "well that is just ubisoft, the game is sh** etc. I woul dlike to have an actual debate and to hear someone change my mind or explain to me what am I not seeing?
Basically, if you try to feint a heavy into a light, the centurion's heavy hits you before your light hits him. How on Earth is this normal and an intended game mechanic?
Why do we have characters like the PK and the Shinobi who can literally spam light attacks until you die. You will not deal sufficient damage to them in the mean time to kill them, even with their reduced health pools. I have versed PKs who literally move their guard round and round than just do a zone cancel, then light-light (cause the second light - it not humanly possible to react to it). I know these are all very old issues that people are having, I just want to hear the reasoning behind creating such a system? Why didn't you add that an assassin class can be killed with a light attack, as the final hit (instead of a heavy, as required for every character now)? That could be a balancing move?
It is just not understandable for me that for a character like the Raider you need so much skill and effort to play, and sometimes comes down to parrying light attacks, which are so fast, that only the very best players can do it. Why create such a character? Let's be honest here, not everyone can parry light attacks of a PK, Shino, berserker, Orochi? It can be done, of course, but is it really that easy? I have seen the best "gamers" in their YouTube videos who can parry 1 in 3 light attacks from the fastest characters.
And this simply feels like such an empty gesture, writing this thread, I may get an answer, may not, if it is someone from the For Honor team, I will get a generic answer etc. I love the game, it is really a ground breaking thing, but there are sooooo many things which do not come down to the skill of the player. And here is the thing, my win ratio with a kensei in duels is around 68%, with Raider 54%, and with Shinobi 80%. Overall I have a win ratio of around 65%, while maining Kensei and Raider from the very beginning of the game. So voila, there is clearly a BIG difference in the characters. If they were all balanced, my win ratios would be around 66-67% with all of them (plus - minus a couple of percents).
So, I guess I am just a glutton for punishment...since I didn't choose PK, Warden, Warlord etc etc from the beginning.
Thanks for the feedback, The.Warrior87. I don't believe it was our intent for the characters to be played in such a way that their moves would be readily abused. Internal testing can only catch so much before we release to the public. While beta periods did help us find some issues with certain heroes, these betas were only available for a limited time. Many of the issues you've mentioned did not start appearing until the weeks into the final release of the game. This is why hero balancing and communicating with For Honor's community is important to us. Thanks to the community, we have been able to quickly identify problems and work to resolve them in our future updates. Each update will bring us closer to finding these unintended behaviors and bring a more balanced experience for players.
Warrior87 im with you on reskilling Kensei - the character is severely underequipped to go up competitively against any other character.
Ive been playing Kensei since beta - and nothing has really changed at all with this character.
And since this thread has reached the devs -
Kensei stamina and stamina regen - are very poor -in duels and even supplemented with lvl 144 gear for stamina traits still does not help
Kensei unblockable attacks are able to be parried or blocked. Yes the fire attack
Kensei is supposed to be a ranged class fighter -yet has the same range as close range classes
Kensei swift strike does not dodge attacks or grabs - but other classes that share similar attacks ie orochi, peacekeeper, and beserker all work as intended
While playing Kensei you cannot attack a player whos about to grab/but the other way around they can bump you out just fine.
Kensei is too slow to even be considered a vanguard class - bring his speed up!! hes not a tank , he cant take a hit like shugoki or lawbringer
So my question is - what updates have been done - it seems like the only consideration has been in new content ie centurion and shinobi classes which btw are very broken - are your only concerns with dlc and not actually creating a balanced and competitive game -
People abusing mechanics on a multiplayer game? Ah man, who'd have expected that?!Originally Posted by UbiJurassic Go to original post
Im a Kensei main as well and I fully agree that he hasn't changed, his unblockable is way to easy to parry, and he is a bit slow.
Though he has a longer range than any of the vanguards or assassins; I've killed many because they misjudged the range of my attacks.
The stamina consumption has never been an issue for me and I have a gear score of 111 currently, that part is all about playing smart and not throwing streams of attacks OR playing in close (many times I'm backing away from my opponent but still win).
Attacking a player while they are attempting a grab is a double edged sword(as it should be). Attack with perfect timing and you can get a free heavy/combo attack while your timings off you get punished.
I haven't had a single issue with swift strike unless I'm facing an light-whoring orochi
He is receiving a buff here soon but apparently its not fixing a lot.
