There are many popular online games with leaving penalties which have healthy communities. I'd like to ask the detractors of this new mechanic why they are entitled to rage quit matches whenever they like, while in other games they would be penalized heavily for this?
One good example of quitting penalties done well is the online game Overwatch. Since the game started there has been penalties for leaving both quick play and competitive, and rarely has there been any complaints from the Overwatch community in regards to this. Why are you so against a basic game mechanic that should have been included when the game first came out, and a basic game mechanic other gaming communities welcome with open arms?
Stop being childish and accept that you're not going to win every single game, and start playing the game how it was intended to be played. Leaving games because you're not going to win is not and will never be an acceptable thing in online gaming.
Just read the arguments and stop making their arguments for them. Guarantee you won't find one person who says they expect to win 100 of the time.Originally Posted by ArlianDeBias Go to original post
First, I would consider For Honor to be a popular game. While there has been a larger drop in the player base when compared to other online games, the player base is still active and healthy. A game which had 100,000 + players active upon launch couldn't be considered unpopular in my opinion.Originally Posted by DrExtrem Go to original post
Second, even if the game was unpopular I would still be an advocate for a quitting penalty. I think preserving the happiness of the community who enjoys playing the game holds precedent over the few who ruin peoples fun by leaving every match.
I have only ever actually rage quit 1 time since i started playing, and i still will never agree that it should be in the game...anyone who actually claims its the rage quitting thats the problem is merely a fool...
THE PROBLEM IS THE GAME CRASHING WHEN SOMEONE LEAVES, REGARDLESS OF THIER REASON.
So why penalize the player for Ubisofts inability to prevent the game from game crashing?
I'm tired of the argument. Ubisoft has said that any quitting penalty will NOT register disconnections due to server issues.Originally Posted by MadCYclops Go to original post
The only people who will get penalized for quitting are people who quit by the menu, or ALT + F4ing out of the game. AKA rage quitters and people who want the easiest match possible so they can win.
The reason I made this thread is to voice my opinion and encourage others to voice theirs. If you have some arguments I'd love to hear them.Originally Posted by Antonioj26 Go to original post
Bit short on time but I'll copy and paste something I said in an earlier thread when I can. I'll ask this question though, what do you think is the main reason people hate leavers?Originally Posted by ArlianDeBias Go to original post
Because it crashes the frickin game. Was I right? Do I win?Originally Posted by Antonioj26 Go to original post
GTA 5 is popular. Fallout 4 is popular. World of tanks is popular. Wildlands is popular. Overwatch is popular. The division is popular. Battlefront is popular. Farming simulator is popular.Originally Posted by ArlianDeBias Go to original post
And now add the word more and than for honor to every statement i made.
At least on xbox.
This game declined fast and they made it decline even faster, by caring to much for the fighting game crowd and not enough for the people who simply like to play as a Knight, Viking or Samurai.
