🛈 Announcement
Greetings! The For Honor forums are now archived and accessible in read-only mode, please go to the new platform to discuss the game

I am not blindly defending ubisoft, I am frustrated, and I have said it more than once, that I cannot reliably 4v4 most days where on Battlefield there are more people on bigger maps and I have no problem, and the training thing is something that has been raised more than once, at least with the matchmaking parameter they have coming, people should be matched with people of around the same experience. The question was though have the developers abandoned the game and I answered that.

In terms of people leaving, in the patch dropping over the next week, they have a ragequit penalty implented which will ban players from matchmaking for ten minutes. It won't be actuve yet, they are turning it on at a later date, but the tech is being put into place for that.

    ---edit---

I also do believe that the main devs are the original ones, they showed an interview last week that, I think it was Eric or Emile, had with one of the guys they used for help with the weapons from two years ago, I can't speak for the team as a whole.

I've got a really nice group of friends and we play together. We tried to play For Honor as a team, it failed because this game has connectivity problems. Whoever plays 4v4 modes, knows what I am talking about. So we tried to play this game but it won't let us, it will crash most of the matches wasting our time; kicking one or more of my friends making it impossible to play all together. I'm the only one still reading the forums and asking around about the game because I love it, it has so much potential. I'm still waiting for a miracle. Rainbow Six Siege started with similar connection issues and it was fixed turning into an awesome game.

I entirely disagree with CandleInTheDark. You got your priorities wrong. First we need solid online experience. Then they can care about balance bugs glitches and stuff. If we can't finish a match or can't play with our friends during the entire match, the rest is superfluous. This has been going on since February 14th. Even after all the patches and weekly streams and newsletters and blah blah, yeah blah blah because that's what it is pure bs, the problem is still there. After 4 months the game still can't handle leavers and will randomly kick people out. It is defective. If For Honor is getting better every week, why the playerbase is shrinking instead of growing?

Right, because I totally said in the post above yours that I believe the connection is great and they don't need to touch it, right?

Again, I am not saying that things are perfect, I am saying things have improved,I used to be able to not 4v4 at all, now I can get games in, not perfect, but better with the hope of better to come, but I answered the question that was asked in have the devs abandoned the game and fixing bugs and balancing are important too.

Did they promise things would get better?

    Yes.

    Have things gotten better?

    Yes.

Have they said things will be getting even better?

    Yes.

I am genuinely not seeing where this narrative of the game burning down all over and that the game is forever doomed like some people are trying to claim.

Nope, you said that the connection is not perfect but it is getting better, which it is not. You said that the devs care about the game and talk to the community and fix things but they haven't fixed THE ONLY thing that makes this game a piece of garbage. So don't be sarcastic on me. I didn't attack you nor anyone else here, chill.

There have been people on here who have said they don't get connection issues, I have gone from about 5% completion to about 50% completion. Again I am not saying it is perfect, and it is frustrating, but you are relating your own experience to everyone's. Does it need to get better? Yes, very much so, and I have never denied that. At the same time saying it has not improved at all is also not the truth.

I believe "better" is somewhat relative term here.

Something fundamentally broken since day 1 has not been addressed in 4 months is not better from my perspective.

It may have gone better on some aspects but fundamental issues should be on that "getting better" list to start with.

I don't care if the balance between classes are getting better when I can't play a game without 3 people leaving then lobby crashing and 15 mins game vanished.

It doesn't count for me sorry. It is like being happy for having nice cloths when you don't have anything to eat to survive

It is not my personal experience only. Browse the forums, search on google and youtube, read or watch game reviews.
How can you explain that the playerbase has dropped so much so fast in such a short period of time?
I want to play with my friends and the game won't let us. 1v1, 2v2 are ok, but 4v4 modes are unplayable.

Except it has been addressed, again, it is not perfect but saying they have done nothing with it is very easily countered by, say, looking at their patch notes.

    Network

Data exchanges between players are now more resilient to network fluctuations.
Reduced the footprint of data exchanges to improve match experience under limited networking conditions.

    Performance

Multiple performance improvements increasing the framerate both in game menus and during matches.
The LODs (Level of Detail) on ambient FX are now dynamically adjusted during matches, when required, to help ensure optimal performance.
[Bug Fix] Fixed a performance degradation when the XBOX One home panel was being opened which sometimes triggered a simulation resynchronization.

Developer comments: We’ve established that in certain situations, when game performance drops below a certain threshold, the simulation could suffer and eventually halt and end the match because it has reached a point that is unrecoverable (often seen as errors 06000018 and 06000021). These network and performance optimizations were prioritized because they target areas of the game that are susceptible to cause an impact to game stability. While these errors can still occur, we hope to have addressed a good portion of its root causes. Furthermore, the networking optimizations will help reduce the impact that a player with a bad connection has on the other players in the match.

    Session/Match

Reduced the rematch timer from 90 to 60 seconds.
We are now able to activate Join-in-Progress at the end of the match. When we activate it at a later date, players leaving the session will be replaced by new players during the End Lobby. This will allow new matches to occur more frequently without the need to quit lobby and go back to matchmaking.
[Bug Fix] Fixed a bug causing a session to split, during matches under certain conditions, leaving each player in its own session with bots.

Developer comments: When too many players leave the session after a match, it is not possible to start a new match and the session is disbanded. Following the upcoming activation of Join-In-Progress during the start-flow (capacity introduced in V1.05), activating it during this phase will enable Join-in-Progress during the complete rematch flow as we aim to lower rematch times. This is also the reason why we lower the rematch timer to 60 seconds.

    Messaging

Improved resync messages displayed during matches to clearly display the cause of the resyncs.

    Game Operations

Added server-side networking configurations to allow faster stability tweaking.
Added monitoring of simulation edge cases to improve our ability to further diagnose certain types of problems.

Developer comments: These will help us reach deeper understanding of the root cause of precise aspects of game stability and help us bring further improvements faster.
I don't claim that it is perfect, others have said that they don't get chucked out of games and they need to achieve this for everyone, but again, people are saying they are doing nothing about it like they think it is all fine, they know this is not the case, hence these changes and putting in tools to monitor what is causing the disconnects.

You made up an entire line of reasoning and train of thought to validate you own butthurt feelings about the way the game is being treated and yet its ME thats the child???

Despite the fact you have ZERO proof to back up your claims.

Nice try champ lol If you wanna complain thats fine, but don't act like the asinine garbage you spew is fact. You claim to know the cost of the fixes etc etc lets see some sources for that statement .
Well it should be obvious that it would cost more to fix than it would to let them slide by. They are a business afterall so of course they are going to make their decisions based on what is likely going to net them the most profit. If they haven't changed or fixed something its because the cost will result in a loss, if it resulted in a gain then they would do it.
