Ever since Far Cry 3 I have wished there was a way to stop the tagging of enemies or a way to turn off seeing enemies through walls / terrain etc.
Sometimes I want to use the binoculars but not tag the enemy because it takes away the element of surprise, I would prefer to walk around a corner and be startled by an enemy than see them walking in my direction which gives me a huge advantage, so it does not ruin the game but it is a little silly and would be much better if this was only for beginners so once you select a higher difficulty it switches off.
Or give the player an option via a modifier to turn this feature off if preferred, I would say the same for multiplayer if it works in the same way.
Far Cry 3 in multiplayer had that kill cam which gave players positions away, didn't like that, seeing a MP opponent through a wall and them not knowing I can see them for me doesn't seem fair (maybe I tagged them so I get that option but I personally would prefer a way to stop this and have a game where players can surprise others more)
I wouldn't want it to be automatically disabled through difficulty modes because while I sometimes utilize the feature, I also still want to do so on the game's higher difficulty levels. My suggestion is a bit more subtle, there should be a button press required to tag an enemy whilst looking through the camera/ binos in the game. So while you are scouting and using the camera, you actually have to press A or something to tag the enemy manually. In addition retain the ability to turn off tagging while aiming weapons and add the ability to fully disable it from the camera as well for those who don't want to accidentally do it while in the camera mode.Originally Posted by Anorexic_Buddah Go to original post
Some of us play on console & don't have mod access.....:/Originally Posted by Viragoxv535 Go to original post
Now why didn't I think of that - surely it would be easy to add in but I really don't think anyone would listen.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
Thanks for that you are correct, same as we can turn off those annoying flashing bodies and collectible flowersOriginally Posted by Canadian Beer42 Go to original post
That would be a good move.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
So with tagging in Multiplayer it would be down to the individual which means if I turn it off and you have it on you can see me when tagged through buildings and terrain etc - I can't see you.
I want the map to be fair for both sides but it can't be unless they grant a way to force Multiplayer Tagging so that if I save the map with it set to off it works that way for everyone.
Currently I can save a user created map in far Cry 4 to have no mini map but you can simply go into the menu and turn it on so the map then isn't been played how the creator wants it to be played.
Again in Multiplayer some would be playing with the map as default set to off and others could manipulate this by turning it on so they would then see their oponents and things which again is unfair.
I hope we can get some feedback for options on how this will work with Far Cry 5
I liked the tagging in Far Cry 3 multiplayer.... Mostly because you shoose to kill someone or just give away her/his position to a person on your team. The tag works only for about 4 seconds , and shooting and tagging at the same time is/was not possible. It is like just saying: "I see an enemy at that or that spot", and after three or four seconds the tag disappears....
Que? What mission did it cause to fail? What are snaps?Originally Posted by Viragoxv535 Go to original post
I didn't play MP much in 3 so I didn't know that was how it worked, but that seems fine. There is enemy spotting in Battlefield & people don't seem to mind, same with Gears of War, it's a team assist sort of functionality when that is how it is implemented...Originally Posted by D.DVD Go to original post
Don't get me wrong the actual Tagging Part is fine, and if it only lasts a short time even better but it's the seeing players through walls and terrain I don't like, would be better if they were tagged for the length of time it lasts but if they go out of view because of an obstruction / building / wall etc then the tag breaks until either the timer ends or they come back into view.
I think Viragoxv535 is saying that there are some missions where you must take photo snaps of an enemy target you killed and send the pics as confirmation to end the mission, having tagging turned off will not let the camera identify the body.
