Ok, I'm jumping right in since we're all very aware of both characters sets.
Cent uses Heavy on Kensei? Parry, sike. Heavy canceled into gb, gg.
You go for heavy and then feint expecting your opponent to heavy/parry you? BOOM HARD READS. oh wait, cent heavy comes out faster than you can feint into gb or light literally meaning there's 0 ways for kensei to punish Cent on a feint. This is the dumbest thing in the world IMO. Since feints are such a huge part of what makes kensei even USABLE let alone work well or viable, it's detrimental to the match up. So now, turtling has become over 100% successful. None of kensei's lights will land since permatop guard can shut down helm and his side lights are reactable. Your heavy's into feints don't work since you CANNOT punish cent on parry attempt. So what's left? Gb, which is laughable, and Dodge. Dodge works when they go for kick. but that's it. So if they don't use kick and just Heavy/GB 50/50 you. You have 0. And i mean 0 ways to fight Centurion. Come on Ubisoft, Do you even play-test what you make? Can we get transcripts and reports of every update discussion?
I was already tired of the game but now that there's a character that I cannot, as one of the weakest characters in the game, even stand a sliver of a chance against is completely exhausting considering that he's the new character EVERYONE uses. Is Cent op? Of course not, I switch to pretty much anyone and can read him like a kindergarten book but when i read people and I'm punished for predicting my opponent. There's an issue.
Now you're thinking, Onyx, Onyx. You're a fool, just feint into parry when he goes for a heavy. Yeah that's cool but remember the heavy/gb 50/50? >_>

He needs more moves in general or a buff to stamina which would help in duels. Faster recovery would also be nice, but that puts us back on the train to turtlemeta.
Faster atacks maybe. But regardless of all that, this cc meta in 4v4 takes the fun out regardless of what you play. So i would apreciate to remove or heavily nerf all atacks that send you flying to the ground or helpless watching for ever combos. To change the unblockable int an unparrybl would also be nice so evade is the only option, since it is so super slow anyway.

Yeah, Kensei struggles against fast characters. Only thing that might give you some options is being a steel nerfed parry god and simply better then your opponent. What would help would be more interesting chains. Not only speed. But honestly, giving his third lights some special attributes as well would be something too. Not only is it rather hard to get there, but giving one of those moves super armor and another of those moves some tracking to catch someone on dodge could be a start.
Something like this along with a little speeding up of his kit, little recovery time reduction and maybe allowing top-attacks into his soft-faint from heavy as well might be something that's relatively easy to do and could bring him roughly in line.
Oh, and don't forget his awfully low running speed! If I remember right, only Shugoki is slower.

So I just had a question I play Centurion (can't help it, I think he is a great new hero) yesterday I faced 3 Kensei, 2 male Kensei and 1 female...
The strange thing that happened is against Male Kensei after a parry I could GB and do a follow up. But the female Kensei has this "being parried" animation that puts her out of reach of GB and LA each time. So this Kensei lady just keep swinging Heavies at me and each time I parried I wound up doing nothing as she was immediatly out of reach. Anyone else notice this?
Seems strange as it's the only character that does this I think

Kensei is a long range hero, you can punish him (or her) with GB only if you parry his/her light attacks, parrying heavies will put this hero out of reach for you. I guess Bushi-bushi or LB can get a light attack from parrying Kensei's heavy, but I'm not sure here.Originally Posted by rudomm23 Go to original post

I've got nothing to say tbh all my frustrations have already been said ... I'm genuinely starting to think Ubi doesn't care especially considering the latest patch notes ... will he get a buff i doubt it we Kensei users just need to get **** hot and have flash like reactions to counter the mountain of bs before us!
