Upcoming Ragequit Patch, BS Matchmaking and who is considering throwing in the towel

I want to start by saying something. I am not good at For Honor. I make way to many mistakes and I have not developed the skills necessary to survive many fights. I detest the gankfest that is 4v4. The new characters, which I like the look of, are a major pain to fight. Centurions can stun lock you and Shinobi's can run away the entire fight without issue. Now, I understand part of the issue is my inability to play at a high level. My highest char is a rank 3 Warden. In 4v4, it get sold seeing a level 10, rank 3. rank 4, rank 2 vs rank 10, rank 14, rank 8, and rank 7. This massive disparity in matchmaking is unreal and ridiculous. Ubisoft has no interest in fixing this issue and is more concerned with ragequitting.

If ragequitting is given a harsh penalty; I will ragequit the game for good. Now, do most people care? Of course not. Yet, if you think I will be only player; you're nuts. The player base is already hemorrhaging people. The newest characters have caused a mass exodus.

I'm about at the point where I stop buying any Ubisoft products. I bought the Division (crap), I bought Far Cry Primal (crap), and I bought For Honor (had potential but crap). If Ubisoft makes quitting mid game a serious penalty; I will no longer support Ubisoft's products. Now, having said that. If Ubisoft fixes the BS matchmaking system and dramatically reduces gear power (and simply makes gear a cosmetic increase), I don't mind the ragequit change. As it is now though, I will continue to quit when I bring in a level 5 character and have to fight against rank 6, rank 8, rank 10 and rank 15 characters.

I'm curious. How many people are considering throwing in the towel for good on FH?

You get punished for your childish and disruptive behavior. And you are considering abandoning the game because people don't want to put up with your habits? We are sorry then and goodbye. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

I paid 100 bucks for this game. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a punishment for interrupting a game. Having said that, until they fix some GLARING issues with their game including matchmaking, why should I be punished for not wanting to get destroyed by a much more experienced player.

What a crazy world we live in where it's considered childish to not want to continue to play a game you aren't getting enjoyment out of.

I don't necessarily think that there shouldn't be some loss associated with quitting mid game. Yet, if you quit mid game, what happens really? You don't get any loot or experience. A bot pops up and plays in your place. My point is until they fix the problems with matchmaking (which is my biggest complaint) they shouldn't be working on ragequitting. IF they would release balanced characters and have appropriately skilled players facing each other, you wouldn't have so much angst. My 100 bucks isn't more important than anyone else but I've sank a ton of money into a game hoping it would improve and it really hasn't. Does that really matter? Not really. Yet, if I buy a game expecting appropriate fun from it and I get a game in which I get obliterated every game by people who have sank hundreds of hours into a character unlike my say 4 hours of play, why should I be forced to remain in a game I have no chance at even being remotely challenging at.

I also paid for the game and that doesn't give you or me ownership over the title, not even over your account. You paid for the PRIVILEGE to play it and you agreed to make use of the product according to the code of conduct that you AGREED upon when you installed your game. Your account is not your property and it can be terminated for a good reason/ no reason with or without warning. So you don't have absolute ownership over it.

If rules and regulations change you will have to agree upon them if you want to continue playing.

The leaver penalty is in the best interest of the game enforced by those who OWN the rights over the title. And I perfectly understand the necessity.

If you have concerns over balance issues, technical issues and so on, you can address to the tech team or bring it up in the forums, and we try to help you. And we can also talk about what we can do to minimise your complains. Because we are a community. You are just part of it. You are not the entire community. And the majority will be very happy with this change.

I agree with CrunaCross. Also it's worth considering For Honor is really on its early stage. For instance, looking at the Division you mentioned, since its release and after many patches and expansions this game you mention is hell a lot better. I gave it a try and had a lot of fun. I spent over 80 hours at least in it. Not more because I just purely don't have time for all the good games that are coming out constantly. I also enjoyed Far Cry Primal and exploring an interesting designed world - but all of this is just... my personal opinion. Nothing more. Same goes for you. What you're saying is just your opinion that perhaps a lot of people can even share, but still it doesn't make it a reality fact for everyone. It all comes to tastes and what you're really looking for in a game.

If a puishment for rage quitting will make you leave for good, then it will be for the best. At least for you. Because definitely the game is not what you were looking for if it makes you to rage quit. (Yes, I have my issues with For Honor and the game is in far from perfect shape still, but I never rage quitted nonetheless)

And I'm really curious - I quit playing games myself from time to time obiously. But I never wrote on any forum about it, or anywhere, that I'm about to quit. What is the point of that? It's not like forbidden and you have full right to do so of course, but I'm just really curious. Is it something like: "Hey guys, let's skip school today and have truancy. Who's with me??"

I just wanted to see how other people felt about it. For Honor went from 45k players a hour in Feb to around 3.5k players a hour, now. Is that loss of players because of ragequitting or is it because people bought a product expecting at least a bit of balance in it and discovered a game that has a steep learning curve, massive imbalances in terms of who plays against who and just introduced 2 characters which are very potent? For Honor is dying as a game and that upsets me. I've spent around 300 bucks total on the game and I pre-ordered it as soon as I was able, hoping for a solid game to play. What I've found was a game that has turned into something that isn't fun for me at all. Can I leave? Absolutely. I don't have to play at all. Like I've said though; I'm not against a penalty being introduced to ward off quitting in the middle of games; BUT, if they are going to do that, they need to fix more glaring issues as well. Some of these issues are matchmaking (which puts highly experienced players against newbies), gear issues, and basic connectivity problems. I'd be happy with a choice. Say, you are Rank X and you don't want to fight anyone over that same Rank. That to me is a reasonable solution but to stick me into games against people who have far more experience and don't just beat me but literally destroy me, is not a fun time. I know, I know; just don't play. That type of mentality is why For Honor has lost over 90% of it's player base and why if things aren't addressed, will continue to do so until the only people playing will be the "Elites."

I understand. However it's really not healthy to worry about a "game" to die. It won't. At least not now, this game is so fresh. I mean look at World of Warcraft where the death of it is a hot topic for many years... And it's seriously far from it.

Lets leave worrying for games death to the devs and I'm sure they do and will do everything in their power to keep it alive. But still I feel silly to even write about that. For Honor won't die, definitely not yet. It will have its ups and downs, but when you come back after quitting, the game will still be there. And hey! Perhaps it will be in a state that will fit your expectations better than it is now. Keep up with the feedback guys, as long as there will be a community that care, there will be room for a lot of improvements. Rage quit penalty is one of them.
