Ok for some reason of im dodging as Shinobi the deflect does not go off...even though i dodge to the correct side it just dodges but the deflect does not go off.

Tried it in a controlled setting and its more prevalent during a berserker rush and the Valkyrie AoE...

You should dodge into the direction of the incoming attack right before it hits, just like when you do a parry, when the hit icon glows you normally parry but instead of parrying, thats when you can dodge into that attack and you will get a deflect. Once you get the timing down its pretty easy to do.

What platform are you on? The devs said on the last den there is a bug on the pc where sometimes the guard doesn't fire in the direction a character is dodging and it is something they are actively working on. So if you are on pc, it might be that, if on console, it is worth taking a video and passing it on to one of the reps to pass on to the devs.

I do...its just dodging...not deflecting....its like the attack is going through me....

Don't worry, that's normal, the timing for deflect is 15 times harder than parry is it's sides attacks.

And some attacks are nearly impossible to deflect for no reason u_u

Deflects are generally trickier to land as they can lead to powerful moves. If you're still having trouble, you try deflecting with the Orochi to make sure you're not getting an error. You have to wait until it's basically in contact with you.
