It just makes sense. It's the only part of your character you will be able to see while playing the game.

Yea, shame they can't make it so you can switch between 1st and 3rd person view.

Can't they? Are we really going to have to fly a plane in 1st person view? I feel Far Cry is primarily a first person game, but somehow it's common for games to switch to alternate camera's when in a vehicle.

A rudimentary third person (free) camera is available in far cry on pc using some debugging cheats script.

Imagine avoiding all those nasty trees with a car, when you can look ahead!

Looking at your image I didn't even know the character in FC2 wore gloves and I maybe played the campaign through 7 times on PS3 / XB360 - Mostly because of bugs with jackal tapes etc, still hadn't noticed.

Its a good idea to have the option to wear or not to wear and if you want them have some choices sure.
Some of those images were a little disturbing - I don't want my character to look like Judas Priest

We can see our boots when we slide, guess we should have alternate options for those as well.

Please no, this isn't Fallout or Ghost Recon... KEEP FARCRY FIRST PERSON ALWAYS!!!

Yeah man, FC2 had better healing animations than any game since. Loved poppin' bullets out of your leg, or cracking an elbow back in place..

Real life ain't got no 3rd person view! One of the things I really enjoy about FC, is that you're never not in first person, and having it as an optional mode would diminish the effectiveness of both. NO game, that has both 1st & 3rd person options, does either as well as they could...

Maybe you just never chose the character with those gloves. If you played the game that many times surely remember you pick between 9 playable characters, each with unique hand models.... and we'd be lucky to have our main character look as cool as Judas Priest, hahaha

With the character customization this will probably happen.

Honestly I didn't know that, Think I only ever selected 2 characters, didn't notice any difference other than the order I met some buddies and some of the back story - if I selected other characters I might have noticed some visual differences to clothing especially the gloves.

That was one issue if FC2 they should have allowed the characters to have different abilities but they all played the same, same with MP the sabotur could have been lighter and faster but have lower levels of soaking up damage where a heavy gunner type could be slower but take more shots like a bullet sponge - Don't see it ever happening though.

Reference FC5 and character customisation hopefully they will show us this working at E3, that would give people a better idea on things.
