My rig: 6700K@4,5Ghz /MSI Z170A GamingProCarbon /32GBRam /1080ti (Geforce 382.05) / SSD /Windows 10v1703 (GameMode:Off) /1080p50/60Hz TV (sadly no Gsync)
The essential changes are written in bold.
Nvidia Display Driver:
- Resolution Settings: 1080p / 60Hz
- Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance (this prevents GPU-throttling in Fullscreen-Mode)
Download, install and start Nvidia Inspector: http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/nvid...ownload,1.html
- Select 'Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands' profile
- Set 'Frame Rate Limiter' to: '60 fps ( Frame Rate Limiter v2 )'
(only this Limiter runs stutter-free, Ingame + eg. RTSS Limiter seem to be broken)
- Apply changes
Ingame Video:
- Window Mode: Fullscreen (Borderless causes stutter in some urban areas)
- Resolution: 1080p
- Resolution Scaling: 1.10 (Nice Downsampling, almost as good as real 1440p+ Downsampling)
- VSYNC: ON (OFF causes tearing, not to forget: a correctly working FRL is still needed, Vsync On alone doesn't do the job jitter-free)
- Refresh Rate: 60Hz
- Framerate Limit: Off (it's broken, causes inevitable periods of stutter. Grayed out when turning VSYNC on)
My personal Ingame Graphics-Settings: (for not exceeding 100% CPU/GPU usage + a decent amount of headroom)
- Antialiasing: Temporal AA
- Ambient Occlusion: SSBC
- Draw Distance: Very High
- Level Of Detail: Very High (looks better than Ultra + is faster)
- Texture Quality: Ultra (affects Terrain Quality as well, TexQ:U/TerrQ:VH looks better than TexQ:VH/TerrQ:U while having the same performance hit)
- Anisotropic Filtering: 16
- Shadow Quality: Very High (Ultra can cause huge performance hit at dusk/dawn)
- Terrain Quality: Very High (Ultra is just too demanding, breaks VSync in some situations)
- Vegetation Quality: Very High (")
- Turf Effects: On
- Motion Blur: On
- Iron Sights DOF: Off
- High Quality DOF: Off
- Bloom: On
- God Rays: Enhanced
- Subsurface Scattering: Off
- Lens Flare: On
- Long Range Shadows: On

PS:
What a hassle, it's about time to buy a gsync/freesync display!
After the latest nvidia drivers the nvidia inspector fix stopped working for me I ended up running Adaptive vsync in game with no nvidia inspector settings to keep it smooth and stutter free but have screen tearing.
I added what you posted ( Frame Rate Limiter v2 ) and it removed the screen tearing so I’m back to stutter free and no tearing so big thank you.
Vsync is very broke in the game from what I can see would like to know if people with Gsync/free sync have the same problems Im running Zotac 1070 extreme, I7 4770 @ 4.4, 16 gig, 2560 x 1080 vsync @ 60, Ultra & very high you should be getting better performance on your setup ?
There seems to be more people with GTX1080’s having stutter problems check http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=414685
Again thanks MyuniHausen for ( Frame Rate Limiter v2 )
Cheers
Hello there.
I was searching the forum to see if anyone has the same fullscreen/vsync issue I do and found this thread. My issue is that the game doesn't remember that I set it to fullscreen and had vsync on. The game sometimes starts up in windowed mode instead of fullscreen. Every time this happens it would also disable vsync too.I go and turn fullscreen and vsync back on and a day or two later it would just start in windowed mode with vsync of again.
Anyway I don't think you've helped me with the above issue but you most certainly have helped me to get my game running smoother and at a constant 60fps. I have a gtx 1080 founders edition. I tried changing the power management mode like you mentioned and it's worked wonders. When I get the time I'm going to check to see how my advanced graphics settings compare to yours. At the moment I cant get Wildlands to play smoothly in 4k with my current settings. I'm sure its because I have a lot of the settings on ultra and either the 1080 cant handle it or my processors letting me down. It's a i7 6700 (non-k). I'm not sure what will be better... to have 3840x2160 with some settings on just high or very high, or to have 1920x1080 with most of the settings on very high or ultra.
Any thoughts would be most welcome.
But anyway.. I just wanted to come and say a big thank you for posting about the power management setting. As I said.. its made a big difference.![]()
