KOTH or King Of The Hill, is not a new idea, but I believe this game can put an original spin on it,
you could add a KOTH mode where you simply fight one opponent after another trying not too lose, or...
you could make it a 3v1 mode where you as the king fight multiple opponents off with the only goal of remaining king for as long as possible, and when killed the person that landed the killing blow would become the new king, you would respawn and try to kill him, and the person who has the most time as king when the timer runs out would be the winner

This is a cool idea for sure. I think multiple teams of 2 could also be cool with this game type. Like 4 teams of 2 all vying for control of a zone. That way there is a FFA aspect with a little more order to it so that it isn't a zone attack frenzy.
I do like the idea of a Gauntlet style situation like players behind a cage door, and one guy out in the middle of an arena. Once the first door opens the two guys fight, and once one of them dies another cage door opens and so on, and so on. You could even do 8 guys with that one. It would create some very cool video-captures. And executions would grant health back so that the players could continue on. I don't know how bleed would work out with that, but it would be cool.
