I was part of the group. Are any of you here on this forum?
I lived in Montana for 8 years. I have seen the trailers. The visuals look a lot like the western third of the state where the Rocky Mountains are located. Most of eastern Montana is open range and prairies. Some things I noticed missing in the trailers.
Where are the ICBM's? Montana has A LOT of missile silos in the ground. Seems a perfect detail for the new psycho dude to try and gain control.
What about Native Americans? Montana has at least three tribes in the state (Blackfoot, Crow and Cree). Seems to me they should be represented in the game.
My general feeling about Far Cry 5 at this point is that it looks like Far Cry 3 but with different clothes. Same formula used in FC4 and Primal (same old same old). I hope I'm wrong, especially after having participated in a focus group to give the developers our feedback from previous releases.
When will a new Far Cry actually be a "far cry" from what we have gotten used to playing? I thought that was the point of the series.
I remember there was a portion of time spent discussing multiplayer. I think that is what you're referring to. But we also talked about the in-game experiences we had as well, regardless of whether it was a campaign or coop online.
Also, I lived in Montana for 8 years (Great Falls). Where are you if you don't mind me asking?
I had some OTJ training in Great Falls last year, I live in Missoula...Originally Posted by scrapser Go to original post

(Just kidding Mathias, you're alright)
Cool. I lived in Great Falls from 1959 to 1964 and again from 1976 to 1978. Great Falls nearly doubled in population between those periods but after Anaconda shut down it really hit Great Falls hard (the jobs did not go to China...LOL). I went to Missoula in 1977 for a Marshal Tucker concert at the University. What a drive that was along Rt. 200. There's a sign on the Continental Divide that reads, "Coldest temperature recorded in the lower 48...78 degrees below zero Fahrenheit." It went down to minus 55 when I lived there in 77.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
I have to say after watching one of the trailers for this game it does look interesting. Flying and being able to enlist AI characters to attack the enemy will be new. I do hope they put a premium on realism this time around or at least include the option for strong realism so the game does not have the carnival atmosphere the last three games have had. And that applies especially to having screen prompts throughout the game and the stupid take downs. We will see.

I honestly didn't get the time to do it and thought the wider forum would be a better place for Community-related discussions anyways, once we announce FC5.
Where we do read comments! So if you have any specific to the Community & activities we can organize to make it a better place, please suggest!![]()
