Bleed is not necessary in this game and should be-at least-being removed from 1vs1 duel mode.
Feint-mechanic is completly exploitable, encourages turtle and needs just a small teak to be ferfect: Remove feint/move into a GB. Increas stamina -cost a little bit.
Cooldown for certain moves: WiP
Ledge-focus is to much in this game. Reduce half the ledge-openings would help.
Well articulated, very comprehensive, well researched. Almost every point is completely agreeable. Though, in my opinion, most of the issue with players relying a lot on one move type or combo stems more from the gameplay (or the base game mechanics) itself rather than from players just wanting to be cancer or not wanting to learn. Take warlord for example, he has an extremely limited moveset. As far as basic attacks you're pretty much limited to light+heavy, heavy+light, or headbutt. Problem being, if you throw a heavy, warlord is so slow that you ARE going to be parried, so you get a lot of "light attack, stop, headbutt+light attack, stop, block/parry/counter, light attack, stop, etc..." and it may seem like players are only relying on one or two types of moves, but that's because the rest of the character's moveset is basically just letting yourself get punished. I imagine many of the characters face similar issues where a decent portion of their moveset is borderline unusable unless you want to be punished. Unfortunately, there's not much I could think of that would fix that sort of issue, and of course it's getting worse now because the new characters punish you so much for any tiny mistake/overreach, because a single minor mistake is lethal and leads to a never ending chain of stamina drains, shoves, stuns and knockdowns.
Thank you my friend. Its true that some chars. are very limited in what and how they do it. Like the conc and Shugoki but I doubt there will be anything like new moves for already exsisting heroes. The best and realistic changes should/(hopefully will) focus on simple things that are easy adjustable like stamina cost/regen. That already would fix a lot. And all the good suggestions out there...mhm...please just take them seriously...
There you go brother. My true colors. Fact: All Heroes that have that certain mechanic dont rly need it. Theye are perfectly fine. Bleed is free dmg for nothing. You already got hit so why an extra? If it is a feat, then maybe but on normal attacks? Dint make me laugh rly.Originally Posted by OnlyTopHeavy Go to original post
I agree, some of the characters are not as played as often due to the lack of sources in their kits. I also want to say this to prevent this from happening they need to make a PTR so that we can test and see what is good and bad for the well being of the game. People are running around playing the new characters and abusing some of their abilities. Naturally, this makes people wants to play the new character and test them out on their own, so the old characters are not left out, unless players decide to stick with shinobi and centurion.
The bleed mechanic as a whole doesn't make any sense at all to me either.
From a realism standpoint:
Getting barely touched by a dagger (or whatever else) is going to make you bleed 1/2 to death but taking a full-on sword or halberd through the heart and you're just fine. Like, really now? Last I checked having your torso chopped in half should bleed more than a Nobushi tapping your shoulder-armor with a glorified knife-on-a-stick, but okay.
From a gameplay standpoint:
It's free damage that you don't have to land additional hits for. It's "I don't want to fight you, so bleed for 30 seconds while I run away". It's kind of a cheap mechanic that is overused just to get out of fighting someone on even standing. Some fast character can just cheese a few light attacks on you(buffed with the bleed ability), then run away while the last 1/2 of your health bleeds out so they never have to actually risk fighting at all. Plus, it's also a bit broken in another sense. Every tic of bleed damage builds the revenge meter, so someone bleeding will get revenge much faster, and no, that doesn't make it "balanced", it's just another way that it is a broken mechanic.
Overall:
They should just replace bleed altogether and make any abilities or moves that apply it just do a little more damage or or apply a small buff instead. I really don't understand why bleed is even a mechanic, it makes no sense on any level.
?? Excuse me, if you misunderstood anything, just tell and I will explain it to you. Thank you for you constructive input anyway.Originally Posted by nyrue Go to original post
