I grew up as a boy in Montana. My Dad took me hunting with him starting at age 5. One day we were up in the Highlands range east of Great Falls hunting Timber Grouse and stumbled on a Bobcat den. Unfortunately he had to shoot 2 or 3 so we could escape (we were on a cliff). I love Montana. Everywhere you look you want to take a picture. It's wide open and clean (or at least it was back in the day). I gave up hunting but would do it if I really needed food.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
Sheesh, silenced everything huh? Sounds like you don't often engage enemies in non-stealth. I love stealth in these games but I don't use it 100% of the time, sometimes I like to f#(k sh!t up and blow the hell outta somethin'. I've been teasing a friend of mine who kinda hates stealth for using a silenced sniper telling him it is a chicken weapon and a pu$$y's bow... hahaha... Kind of teasing him, but I do genuinely think silenced snipers are cowardly.Originally Posted by Helforsite Go to original post
Yeah, when I was growing up here the legal hunting age was 12, but from ages 5-9 our family had lived in Alaska, and there is age requirement to hunt in Alaska (at least then, dunno now) so I shot my first deer when I was 8, then we moved back to MT (where we'd lived before Alaska) and I couldn't hunt until I was 12 & took a hunter's safety course... I remember asking my dad why I had to do that since I'd already hunted & killed a deer.... Admittedly at the time I didn't really enjoy the hunting, my dad made me & my sisters hunt as we used the meat and rarely had to buy red meat at the store because we all got deer & antelope and had enough to last....Originally Posted by scrapser Go to original post
Especially endangered species (rhinos, elephants, tigers, komodo monitors, cassowaries, leopards...). ^^Originally Posted by Viragoxv535 Go to original post
Those hunting stories do make me feel strange though. Guess I've seen too many extinct species to understand. Won't start a debate here, cause I know each one has his own reasons (some are actually good). Yet, sure as hell I'm happy to see some critters in those games that are now almost impossible to find in real life. ^^
I use stealth as much as possible, true, but I also like to ambush enemies in cars with my silenced AR which I use for pretty much all non-stealth fights^^ Regarding silenced SR: used sparingly, primarily, because I dont like the ones they had in FC3&4 that much and getting a nice headshot with a silenced pistol or bow is much more satisfying!Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
So if the you use the AR for your non-stealthy engagements, it's got me wondering why you silence it. I dunno, for me I like having some non-silenced weapons because I like the visceral, loud audio on some of the ARs & shotguns & such. Just curious... My typical loadout is either an un-silenced AR (P416 or A52) or SMG (Vector or MP5), a shotgun for when things get up close & personal (the spaz if i have it, or the .700 nitro because that thing is beeeeeast) some sort of explosive ordinance (the thumper side arm in FC4 filled that role usually) and the bow, & almost ALWAYS had the bow, most versatile weapon in the game when you've got fire & explosive arrows.....Originally Posted by Helforsite Go to original post
I used to do this because of the sound the shots make, and seeing all the ennemies cleared without having heard anything but 'plop plop plop...'. Later, I came back with M1911 and AK shooting like crazy cause I love when ennemies try to flank you while hiding behind cars, etc.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
