    Raider feedback after patch 1.0.7

    Hello everyone,

This is my first post on these forums.I used to read the forums only, but I feel it would be could to start a thread on the raider.
I main raider myself and I noticed there was no thread giving feedback on the buffs raider received(atleast I couldn't find any).

I think it would be a good idea for other raiders to share their opinion on this matter so the devs can evaluate.

My opinion is that the raider definitely has improved with the buff.
The lower stamina cost on his zone makes a difference aswell as his increased stamina pool.
They allow me to keep my offense going a little longer.

I like how stampede charge is now properly draining stamina and the new stunning tap mixup is a nice addition aswell.

However the fundamentels problem with raider still stands.
He needs something done to his attack speed its so slow currently everything is parry bait.

I understand making his heavies faster will potentially make him OP since they do so much damage, but right now they get parried by any decent player with ease.

I only use them when someone is on the ground and stamina drained, or when i wallstun someone ( Which can only be done the way your guardstance was before you threw them) .

A good change would be to make him able to give him a heavy from a wallstun a bit easier not only the direction you were in before the throw.
so its a bit more reliable to hit.

Second i would like to see his zone attack be able to come from more then 1 way.
Give him the ability to change direction when using zone in a combo (atleast).
Currently the move always comes from 1 side and anyone can just parry it without any effort.
If it can also come from the top or the other side you could make it a bit less predictable.

Lastly with the addition of new DLC heroes we got another PK 2.0 shinobi.
The light attacks on shinobi are atleast as fast as those on PK and raiders guardspeed still cant keep up.
I think every heroes should have a chance to defend himself against light attack spam.

So make all guardspeeds on all heroes equal so no one is spammed to dead by this.

How do you guys feel about raider after its buffs.
Is it enough or does he deserve another round like lawbringer?

I agree with you. The raider has certainly improved with the buff but he's still not as viable a character as some others are. Your idea of changing the direction of the zone attack is a good one. It feels like that's the raider's most viable move for damage and for actually hitting. i don't think I've actually been hit by a raider's heavy, even since the patch. It's always been a feint into that overhead stun tap.

I didn't realise there was actually different stance change speeds between classes. That definitely shouldn't be the case. Let blocking be down to player skill, not their character's arbitrary stance shift speed.

I'm glad I'm not the only 1 thinking he could use some more work.

Currently his playstyle is working around getting a GB so you can drain some stamina en get some damage in.
After that you need to keep putting on the pressure and keep you enemy of balance.

Only other reliable way for getting some combo's in is getting a parry on your enemy through cancelling a heavy and baiting them.
Letting it go will most likely mean you get parried and give them a free heavy on you or a free GB.
This means most good players know you will cancel it since its so risky to actually let go.

I tend to use my zone after I got a knee or stunningtap on them so they lose the indicator.
But for good players it wont matter and its still an easy parry.
Thats why I think the direction change to this will help.
They may know its coming and it will be slow, but atleast it can come from more then 1 direction.

I once read about someone who wanted to give hyperarmour to raiders heavy's.
I'm not sure how that would work out though.

I still think it would be a good idea to give him a proper heavy from a wallstun.
Currently you have to time it perfectly and also you must remain in the guard stance you were before you initiate the wallstun (no time to switch stance).
Otherwise you will miss the window and the enemy will have its guard up again and have a chance to parry your heavy.
Make it so you can get a heavy in even if you make a quick stance change.

For opening up your enemy he's just limited if you can counter GB and block you can shut raider down easily.

Current buffs made him beter when he gets the combo going but not at getting something setup.

Still really enjoy playing him though its incredibly satisfying when everything comes together.

I cannot say this enough, the problem with raider isn't his kit, its the core mechanics of the game, I believe when they do finally make chip damage a part of the game, the raider should do the most chip damage out of any character, his heavies are slow and stamina draining, and with that added pressure his new stunning tap mix up becomes all the more effective, you shouldn't need super fast attacks and unblockable spam for a hero to be viable, I applaud people for there creative suggestions but raiders problem is kensei's problem and lawbringers problem, its the problem with the game not raider
