I've, for the first time, gotten to the Legends section of the Bunker. How does the ranking in here get calculated? Is it based on win ratio for the current season?
Devs said in the past that Legends ranking is based a modified form of the "ELO" system:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system
To put it in simple terms; you get more "ranking points" (a number you never see) for beating a higher ranked opponent, and you lose less points for losing to a higher-ranked opponent. And the other way is similar... you lose more points for losing to a lower-ranked opponent and lose less points for losing to a higher-ranked opponent.
The system has its flaws due to the way Trials has done it.... for instance, a long time ago I hit top legend #1 rank with 2 days left in season by starting/winning 50 games against rank 15 opponents, thereby catapulting me into legends and never losing, so my ELO score was artificially boosted without ever playing a legend .... I dropped a couple ranks before end of season, but if I had done it a day later I would have stayed rank 1. . . . .
... the other flaw being that a well-run ELO system would make sure that everyone above a certain rank MUST play each other at least once. Its essential that the top 10-20 people play each other to get an accurate ranking, for instance. Sadly, in Trials who you play is completely random, so you may never even play anyone ranked high. We once asked for the ability to "challenge" people to help combat this bias, but never got it.
Thanks xitooner! That makes sense and should be a good system to use. Explains why I've never reached Legends before and ended up rank 57. I played and beat a couple Legends before I got there with one being in the top 20.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post

In the bunker event, you can see a users ELO score.
Xitooner hit the nail on the head really.
