    Thank you everyone, and we'll see you on the battle grounds!

    I honestly will get on my hands and knees and beg you in person to add the "Oni" armor from the alpha. Please. Just please. It looks so amazing and it looks like it has actual protection with the chain mail and all, please add it back in, or at least inspire an armor with the chain mail and armor piece in the back, it's honestly the most amazing looking armor set next to the elegant pit viper set that was released. I'll do anything for the armor. I've been waiting on that armor set since day one, that's why I'm a rep 40 orochi now because I said to myself ( what if they released it as a reputation reward? ( Pretty good idea btw, you'd stand out from other orochis on the battlefield) the fact that, that armor set isn't in the game is what keeps me up at night, please add the armor into the game as a legendary armor set. Please.

    Brief summary of what is wrong with Orochi

    Lack of Opener
    This is Orochi's (and a lot of other characters) biggest problem. The only way an Orochi can occasionally hit someone that wants to turtle is by flickering a zone attack. Once that bug is fixed, he will have absolutely no way to stop someone from defending whatsoever. This is mostly because the only fast attacks Orochi has are his top light and his zone attack. The entire left direction can be ignored when fighting one, which means even if you just straight up guess which attack is coming next, you can still parry it half the time.

    Deflect is a Shadow of What it Was
    In the first Alpha, Deflect was triggered by blocking at the right time. Obviously, this was too powerful, but while Deflecting was nerfed, the reward for hitting a Deflect never changed. So, with Wind Gust, you have this terrible 25 damage attack that is completely outclassed in damage, safety, and stamina reduction, by parrying. Hurricane Blast is negated by just double tapping roll backwards, on every character in the game. Characters with side dodge attacks are completely immune to Hurricane Blast. (Kensei, Valk, Shinobi, Orochi, Peacekeeper, Berserker, Nobushi). In high level, Hurricane Blast is effectively useless except on the 1-2 scenarios where an attack has such high recovery it is guaranteed (Warden's Zone for example).

    Storm Rush was also overnerfed
    Storm Rush used to be extremely fast, and it was feintable at the very last second. I agree that the feintable til very last second thing was a bit much, the speed nerf was not at all needed. Storm Rush is meant to punish whiffed attacks, except it can't actually do that if you're reacting to a whiff. You basically have to guess when an attack with high recovery is going to come out, and already be rushing forward as their attack is ending.

    Riptide Strike
    I don't even need a description here. There is never a scenario where Riptide Strike is the correct, optimal option. Ever.

    Some Possible Fixes

    Side Lights
    Every other Assassin in the game has 500ms side lights. In fact, let's count the heroes with 500ms side lights. We have Peacekeeper, Berserker, Shinobi, Centurion, Nobushi, Warlord, and Valkyrie. Half the characters in the game have 500ms side lights, and half of them aren't even Assassins. There is no reason the agile Orochi should have side lights as slow as Raider - it makes no sense thematically and gameplay-wise. If Peacekeeper exists, and Shinobi exists, and every character with 500ms lights exists, then console can't really complain about Orochi either because their issues already exist in several characters with 500ms lights.

    I would honestly be okay with like a 32->25 damage nerf of the top lights if this happened.

    tl;dr: Orochi would benefit from 500ms side lights, and it can't really be considered overpowered considering half the characters in the game have this.

    Riptide Strike
    Riptide Strike is one of those "cool in theory, useless in practice" moves. There are several options to fix Riptide Strike it make it not worthless. All of these are possibilities, and it doesn't mean ALL of them should be implemented.

    - Make Riptide Strike feintable. This one is pretty non-negotiable. The fact that it isn't feintable blows my mind.
    - Make Riptide Strike chargable. I think as one of the signature abilities of Orochi, Riptide Strike should have some type of mindgame associated with it. Let it be charged like a Centurion heavy and make the damage scale with charge time.
    - Make Riptide Strike faster. You can't really dodge anything on reaction with Riptide Strike unless it is an extremely slow heavy. Having to completely guess is a terrible idea.
    - Make Riptide Strike have i-frames similar to Hidden Stance on startup. - As it stands right now, you can't really dodge anything with Riptide Strike. Attacks usually just track to you because your hitbox is still active. Having a Hidden Stance style effect could help this.
    - Make Riptide Strike feintable directly into Storm Rush - This could be a decently cool mixup. As long as you've begun your arc back, it acts like the backdash required to initiate Storm Rush. This way, you can counter-attack from all three directions.

    Storm Rush
    Make it faster. That's it. That's really all the change it needs. Its supposed to be a huge whiff punish, but you can't actually punish any whiffs unless you guess.

    Change Crosswind Slashes to incorporate heavies
    There is literally 0 reason to ever use a full chain of Crosswind Slashes. However, if the third hit was a smoother faster heavy attack instead of a worthless 600ms light, it could introduce mind games after hitting a top light combo. Now instead of hitting a top light and going for a zone or...well, nothing else, you could top light, heavy chain into one direction, feint it, attack the other, etc. Obviously the top light is central to the dev's vision of Orochi, so allowing combos to chain off of it that are actually useful would be great.

    Buff the damage of Wind Gust
    Wind Gust needs to do 35 damage to make it comparable to a parry. There is zero reason to Wind Gust instead of parry in most scenarios. In fact, even with similar damage, parrying will still be better because of stamina drain, but at least it won't be a complete waste if the damage is similar. Hurricane Blast can remain the same for the few times it is guaranteed.

    Hurricane Blast "mixup" isn't a mixup
    I know the devs think Hurricane Blast has this super cool mixup, but they need to ask themselves "What is the point?" Sure, you can dodge cancel a Hurricane Blast, but why would you skillfully time a deflect, and then do NOTHING? Why would you skillfully time a deflect, and then cancel it into a guard break when you could have just parried and guard broken for less risk and more reward. These are serious issues concerning Hurricane Blast that need to be addressed.

    I'm not honestly sure what I would change about Hurricane Blast. Its badly designed to begin with. There shouldn't be a punish that can be...punished. Maybe make it faster so its guaranteed on more attacks, like end-of-chain heavies or other rarely used attacks. It should have a role as a big punish for rarely used attacks.

    Also, as a side note, make it so Hurricane Blast doesn't have the wonky camera change. I can't even see where the dude I am Hurricane Blasting is if he begins dodging - he goes off frame. Additionally, having Hurricane Blast start immediately after deflecting would be cool, since there is no downside to that, as you could still cancel into light.

    Zephyr Slash could use a speed increase
    I believe Zephyr Slash is currently the slowest dodge attack among Assassins. This is not a very high priority request, however.

    Are you guys going to actually buff the orochi or listen to our pleas? I keep getting parried from my only viable top light move and my zone attacks aren’t hitting since everyone’s so familiar with them. Was this post to tease players into giving them a sense of hope? This goes back all the way to may. It’s november almost December and no changes but a FEW have come into the game for orochi. I’m done waiting, I can’t issue this character like how it is, every new **** coming out every season just feels like a trample. Goodbye forhonor.

    Actually orochi is good where he is at. I think when the meta changes he'll be more powerful without a buff. The turtle meta makes it hard for a character based on countering people's attacks. Playing against an aggressive character (shaman) had made me realize orochi is in good state. Leave him alone

    When is the Orochi buff coming?? Is there any ETA?? Can we get some insight on what changes you’re even considering?? Have you abandoned this project entirely??

    Note: Orochi is listed as an Agile Counter-attacker(a huge problem considering the current defensive meta). Also, nearly Orochi’s entire moveset has a dash in the startup animation i.e. RipTide, Storm Rush, Lightning strike, Zephyr Slash, and Deflects. Getting GB’d during a dash = Untechable....fighting an Orochi in the current state is as follows; Guard top, watch for zone, and hit them with an untechable GB if they do anything else. All we have outside of our ENTIRE move-set is; heavy feint to top lights as side lights and side heavies are obnoxiously slow.

    Unblockable suggestion;
    - Orochi should have General Tozens kick from the campaign. Working it in could be off a parry, deflect, or storm rush. In-line with most other kicks/punches currently in-game.

    I've added multiple suggestions for each given move, we would use one or a combination of two maybe? Clearly not all.

    Lights attack suggestions;
    1. Increase side light attack speed(this removes the existing damage funnel from top by opening up the sides). I like this as it allows for hard feints in one direction and then a side light to another. As its not a combo(one hit done), the added benefit of this wouldn't be overpowering. Most opponents know to guard top and watch for the zone against Orochi. This would open things up.
    2. Allow the double light combo from any direction(like Shinobi?) this may be a stretch but it's an idea.

    Heavy attack suggestions;
    1. Enable dash cancel on heavy attacks(in-line with ALL other Assassins, seriously why don't we have this already?) this grants the ability to add soft-feints but as dash attacks are extremely telegraphed and easily parried it would be a subtle mix-up change.
    2. Allow heavies to be soft feinted with lights in a different direction(like Aramusha).

    RipTide suggestions;
    1. Grant Hyper Armor. RipTide is fairly useless as is due to the ability of the opponent to hit you with an untechable GB at start-up or interrupt it with an attack. Consider changing the startup/function to act like nobushi hidden stance, a single input, and it can't be guard broken. I suggest this to improve input errors when trying execute a storm rush but it comes out a RipTide and improve the overall viability of an amazing move(if it worked).
    2. Add the ability to execute a RipTide to the left or right for a side heavy counter.
    3. Allow us to cancel
    4. Enable dash cancel(I don't love this as the startup is already a dodge which is punishable and the dash attacks are easily parried)
    5. Make it an unblockable.
    6. Make it an unblockable as a chain finisher i.e. after a heavy combo, top light combo, or storm rush.

    Storm rush suggestions;
    1. Allow us to cancel it later.
    2. Allow us to cancel it at anytime using GB.
    3. Increase the attack speed portion of the rush.
    4. Make it unblockable.
    5. Make it an unblockable if chained with something i.e. A Heavy, RipTide, or one of the dash light combos.

    Deflect suggestions;
    - Now, this one I thought long and hard about, I love the swag of deflects but there is very little incentive to execute a deflect instead of the confirmed damage AND stamina reduction from a parry combo. First, we need to remove the camera rotation. If the opponent dodges, they move off camera and we can't see or react to the incomming attacks. Why are we getting punished for landing a successful deflect?

    1. Deflects should auto-combo directly into Hurrican blast with hyper armor(just like Berserkers or Shinobis deflect auto-combos) from here, you have cancel options into a GB, Windgust, or Dash-out. This would really incentivise the use of deflects and give Orochi some type of a mix-up. However, speed/tracking should be improved so that all classes can't double dash out of this hard earned mix-up.
    2. I don't like the idea of adding a bleed. How many Samurai were putting poison on their blades? That's a Ninja thing. I do like the idea of something like Stamina regen on deflects. Would be a great way to keep stamina up so you can continue to feint and open up turtles. As oppose to adding stamina drain to the opponent which would only further encourage the defensive meta.

    - Side-note: Hurricane blast should combo into an execute if it's the killing blow. In-line with other unblockable attacks like Raider, Kensei, Centurian, etc.

    Most classes thrive off chains and unbloackable openers to create their mix-ups. The Orochi move-set is a plethora of isolated executable moves that you have to string together to create your own combos(frankly I like that idea). Unfortunately, as described above, most of the moves are a dash variation, extremely telegraphed, and are most often parried/punished. Thus the reason Top lights and Zones is all we really have in competitive play. The closest thing Orochi has to a chain is storm rush into top lights which, unfortunately, SR is extremely difficult to land and when you do; most classes can block the 2nd if not the first top light(bug?). Also, our only unblockable is initiated off a deflect. Which requires the opponent to throw an unconfirmed attack and they can still double dodge it easily.

    BONUS: Where are my Rurouni Kenshin outfits? Also, a buckets off option(hide helmet), show the faces?

    This is ridiculous, how long this thread has been up and how they say said they wanted suggestions and still no feedback other than "we are working on it...", I heard orochi isn't even first set characters to be worked on. So that means we orochis have to wait even longer until they are finished with those who need the rework most.

    On another note, does anyone feel like the storm rush is always over powered by other characters rush attacks, o initiate my attack first but yet I get stopped by the enemy's attack. He should be like Kenshin himura for god sake, should be some speed like the shinobi somewhere in his skills to where if he does an attack , it should be able to cancel and counter it. Doesn't even have to big damage but at least give us options to be agile and a counter attacker. Every move I do seems to be noticable and has to be executed where it will be punished easily. Against turtles , it's a staring contest and Dodge attacks get easily parried by them. We need more mix-ups...he's to damn limited...even his grab throw is a joke...the elbow barely throws, it just makes people stumble. There is no distance when he grabs and throws hos opponent a direction. Come on give us some thing better epic for waiting this long and avoiding us.

    Oh by any way chance can he have sheath for his katana? I mean it be a nice design to see him put his katana into one...lol

    shaman can soft feint an unblockable into a guard breaker or into a light attack in the oposite direction
    centurion can soft feint a chargeable heavy into a guard breaker

    but cancel storm rush and perform a guard breaker apparently was so OP that they needed to remove
