Well, i can't watch livestream yet, so i'm going a bit blind but maining orochi i can say if we look at Warlord or Warden as standard, Orochi is a bit Plain.
-Has no Openers
-Its reliance in deflects is more a drawback than an advantage. Parry is far safer and rewarding.
-Its deflects attacks are insuficient. However, i should say it's heavy deflect it's useful now (but it's still worse than a parry)
I thought Centurion moveset is a good precedent to change a lot of character with his follows to blocked attacks, but i donīt know how dev want to change defence meta or Orochi.
My personal thoughts are than assassins should be agressive characters and deflect should works to defence themshelves while they are attacking (for defending and attack we have parry)
Some ideas could be:
-Unbrokeable storm rush: is a very telegraphed move, very parryable, so I donīt think i would unbalanced (there is a eternity since i block a SR, I always parry)
-Storm Rush with wider feint window: It would be use to close gap, and would be risky enough to be punished
-Storm Rush like a "Orochi Hidden Stance". It seems a bit unfair for nobushi but movement itself has that "Iajutsu taste" so i'll put something like that. Personally, i don't give Storm rush any Invulnerability like hidden stance, but i hidden attack side until last moment.
-Riptide strike with hyper armor: So it could be used to change damage
-Riptide Strike feintable: It's something was asking for a lot in forum, but i'm not vey fan of feints. I like fluid combat not feint contests
-Some light-heavy combo: Actually, orochi only have one combo started by light attack, so itīs very predictible, and get an executions would be very hard.
-Second light guaranted on side attacks: it's something asked a lot in forum too. It would be great, but with anything else, we have another "light-light" spammer.
-Gust wind and hurricane blast as chains finishers: In special hurricane blast could make a lot of good mixup but like finishers, we still have the problem of lack of openers.
That's only ideas and not a list of Orochi's improvements, in fact, a lot of them together would be clearly op. just a bit of "stormbraining" waiting for how Ubisoft team wants Orochi to be played.
All of this thinking in top heroes (warlord, warden...) like standard.
In my mind, Unblockables suits for assasins, hyper armor for heavys, CC for vanguards (Like a main stream, not a rigid pattern) with hybrids having a mix-up of those, coming up from classics moba games.
I hope this would be usefull somehow.
