Hey ubi, I'm really excited for the Far Cry game but I do have some concerns about the game. Here are some of my suggestions for the new game.
1. I hope that this new Far Cry will not have a lot of recycled elements from Far Cry 3 and 4 such as the animations. The problem with Far Cry 4 and Primal was because they both play and feel very similar to Far Cry 3. It felt like it was just Far Cry 3 but on a different map and had a different story.
2. I got a little of a dark, scary and twisted vibe from the short teasers, i hope that will the tone of the game.
3. Please don't include any towers in the game, well you can actually; what i meant is do not include the tower mechanic from Far Cry 3 and 4 which is Far Cry equivalent of Assassin's Creed viewpoints. I believe that this mechanic would discourage exploration and ruin the sense of discovery.
4. While i do like the fast and action packed gameplay from Far Cry 3 and 4, i also kinda like the slower gameplay of Far Cry 2 particularly how the guns could get jam. Maybe you could make the gameplay to be a mix between Far Cry 2 and 3.
5. I would like you guys to emphasis the hunting and crafting mechanic more.
6. You probably heard this a lot of time by now, but i hope you do not rush this game out if its not ready yet or you feel that the game couldn't met our expectations.
One thing people should keep in mind is, game development on a AAA scale is such a demanding process that they're not gonna start adding new featured or anything like that at such a late point. One Ubisoft employee said a year or two back that they have come to the point where they now need a whole year of just polishing the game, to get rid of bugs etc, after the game itself is actually finished, in terms of world design, features and modes.Originally Posted by angstik Go to original post
Kind of crazy to think about, but hey, your suggestions will still be here if they ever choose to make FC6![]()
Thats the only hope we can give the OP.Originally Posted by Lillestoel Go to original post
Feature-freeze was already in 2016 for sure.
Yeah, the game is most likely content complete by now. Anticipating Friday so we can get some questions answered (and inevitably more to ask) but also there'll most likely be a decent gameplay demonstration at e3, so that should clear up some more questions as well. Of OP's list, weapon jamming is one i agree with most. Honestly I'm starting to think that while I am tired of it, i probably have the least issue with the whole towers mechanic... haha...
As a modder, I know the Far Cry games tend to be released with assets from previous games. Some are unused, but editor mods can help bring them out for people to use in custom maps nonetheless. Even though they may not have passed Ubisoft's quality control, map makers can grasp any straw they can get.Originally Posted by x2-darren Go to original post
So, by all means: please DO include recycled assets from previous Far Cry game(s). The more the merrier, from a map maker's standpoint. Just don't focus too much on it, as the game should 'feel' like its own.
I was the biggest farcry fan and had played every edition to the series but now I see that you made a game against Christianity against my religion and tear a bible with a gun in it scene plus making the last supper a game joke . Ubisoft developers u may like blasphemy but I don't. So I am going to start a campaign against this game and tell every Christian and every other religion person if you respect your religion don't play this game, today they made fun of Christianity tomorrow they will make fun of some other religion. This is not acceptable and I hope this game is a total failure.

However, since this thread is back on the first page may as well address some of the OP's concerns.
1 - It does appear to have far less recycled/ re-used assets than FC4 did! The heal animation is different, some basic reloads of returning weapons look new and the returning weapons appear to be new models!
2 - I'm sure there'll be a variety of tones throughout the game.
3 - Towers are officially out!!
4 - Seems they're sticking closer to the FC3/4 style of gameplay, but many of us want a something closer to a balance between 2/3 as well!!
5 - Hunting & crafting is yet to be detailed, but I'm with you on this one! Hope it is expanded & improved upon!
6 - Game's been in the works since FC4, and is still 6-7 months (or potentially more) out, so hopefully thats given them the time they need to make a highly polished and enjoyable game!
