    [FEED_BACK] Female Shinobi

After getting my Shinobi to rep 1 with the male version. I decided to switch to female version to see which one is better. And I must say the female version of Shinobi is a lousy job. First the idle stance, female shinobi stands with her legs spread so manly just like the male, same as her walking and running animation. She looks even manlier than a female Warden. The idle animation is glitchy as hell. It often got interrupted half way. And look so weird when spinning the chain, the sickle stick to her hand, no chain let loose. These doesn't happen to male version. Make me think Ubi just put the same animation of the male to the female then made it even worse. Anyway this's not a big problem but it should be fixed imo.

I, personally, *really* like the female Shinobi as-is as far as the stance and walking/running goes and the same goes for the female Berserker as well - fantastically well done. Calling something 'manly' just because it doesn't conform to *your* ideas of what 'female' should be doesn't mean that it is wrong or should be changed.

That said, the idle animation of the sickle-spinning might need to be looked in to just to make sure that it is working right or close to right (but, honestly, it didn't and still doesn't bother me as it is).

    Ever in service,

Zume Frostpaw, Guardian of the Empire

    Rep30 Orochi
    Rep5 Nobushi
    Rep3 Shinobi

I'm afraid I have to disagree. What is justified enough for me to calling something "manly" ? I just say what is true, I see something manly I say it. I could say the same thing about how you like Zerk and Shinobi female. Viking female could have a strong and a little masculine appeal, but it's because they're Viking. Japanese female however. is not. It's not about my or your idea of what female should be. It's about the aesthetic of a culture. So we don't make feminine male Viking and masculine female samurai.

It's a female assassin. What do you want her to do? Curtsy like a little princess? Twiddle her thumbs like a shy girl that never learned how to talk to anyone? Frolic with her hands flapping like a runway model trying to get attention?

It's a girl. Just because she stands like what you consider to be manly doesn't make her a man, and if the male version stood around like a woman, that wouldn't make him a woman.

Personally I think it's weird to worry about a woman standing stronger and more confident than a man, especially in a game revolving around combat, not some sort of fashion magazine

to be honest genre in this game with that much amount of cloth is just pointless, balance wise on the other hand.... female characters are better to use since they are a little more small and the animations are more "invisible" to the eye, you can check it with male warden and female one, you can hit more shoulder bashes with the female ones since the animations are not that showy.

I think that female ghosts *ahem* shinobis have better equipment.

I've never said female shinobi IS A MAN. I said her animation is so manly. Ermm...What do I want her to do ? How about just like female Orochi, or Nobushi. These are female warriors, and they have good animation of should female warrior should be. The game revolving around combat, doesn't mean it can't be fashionable. If not why make so many different nice gears ? Why customization is there ? And why they add male and female version of the same hero ? Everyone grinding like crazy to get the gears they like, even spend steel to scavenge and change the look. It's all about fashion.

You've missed my point entirely. I never said you said she was a man. The point is, there's no reason that she has to have "feminine" stances simply because she is a woman.

The reason some warriors have both genders is to be inclusive so it's not a sausage fest, and for the same reason of inclusiveness there is the ability to change your skin tone. You can project yourself onto this avatar to make it more personal to yourself, or to roleplay as someone you admire. However, there's not really a reason to worry about how beautiful a character is when the fashion in this game revolves around looking strong, intimidating, and powerful.
