Been trying out the Kensei recently because I decided to level all my heroes at least to Rep 1.
One of the many cool things about the Kensei is the ability to guardbreak then throw/chain into your unblockable (with the option to feint into side uninterruptible), but every time I get a guardbreak in a skirmish or dominion match the enemy player is kicked out of my grasp by a Shinobi teammate.
I've been able to chain successfully with Centurion and Berserker and even as a Shinobi when playing with other Shinobis, but my Kensei has a hard time getting to the next move.
I played with the Kensei before the new season and my success rate just to complete the chain (not necessarily connect) was 80-90%. There were always a variety of little hiccups that comprised that 10-20% of broken chains.
Now it seems like I only get to complete the THROW portion of the chain like 20% of the time, and the complication is almost always because some Shinobi on my team kicks the enemy out of my guardbreak/throw animation. The Centurion kick can, and will do the same thing from time to time, but it is so much less frequent than the Shinobi kick.
I know the developers wanted to give the Kensei a little bit of love, and unfortunately this seems like an unintended step in the wrong direction.
The Shinobi already has the double dodge that can chain into a light or heavy attack, the roll in and kick/back flip into a heavy or a guardbreak, and they have the teleportation deflect with the bleed effect. Maybe their kick needs to be less of an opening move and more of a mid-chain move.
I have my Shinobi to Rep 1 and I find myself becoming very displeased with the mechanics of the double dodge kick moves from other Shinobis, and I'm willing to bet other players (Enemy/Friendly) become agitated with MY OWN kicks during matches.
