So I can blow like 50 bucks on a season pass (which is crazy btw, for six heroes and nothing truly unique for pass holders), or like 30 bucks for 25K steel which won't even buy them both, or I can grind for like a straight month because honestly who has time to play every single day...
I want to love this game, when it's fun it's fun, but it's the worst grind outside of an MMO or mobile game.
The season pass week is over, I was prepared to spend like 5K per hero... but 15K each?
That's just unreasonable.
The season pass should have been about tons of neat cosmetic items for every class, a second base skin maybe for each class, something to sink our teeth into. Maybe permanent champion status instead of a month (which, once again requires us to play every day, and expires even when our game is off) or a type of champion status that only expires when we play.
But man, waiting for the preview week to end, only to realize I have to grind a rediculous 30K steel or drop $50 after all is the mother of all disappointments.
I know some guys will flame me for this post, doesn't matter, I have a job and a family and can't play every day, but Jesus guys, if you were going to make the season pass all but essential why not just come out and say it? 30K is a metric ton of steel, and a hell of a grind just to try something out, especially when everyone likes different classes in the end.
Real letdown, Ubisoft.
yeah it was announced weeks ago i play the game i dont watch patch note update videos or the warriors den livestream. all i do is play the game like a filthy casual dont read twitter or any social media updates on the game just play it i sure as hell did not hear about the 15k STUPIDLY over priced characters till i logged on today sure they announced it to all the people how play pro and hardcore.
It really is though. It boils down to spend 50 bucks or wait a month or two just to try the new classes, if that.
I wouldn't care if they were upfront about it, but nowhere did they mention I'd be doing 30 days of dailies and abandoning all progress on other characters just to try these guys out.
This game is pay to play, on top of the $70 purchase price. I'll gladly play for fun, hell I've put in at least 150 hours on this, but I have mobile games that are more forgiving, and they were free to begin with.
Basically, Ubisoft wants us to pay $120 for the full experience, and that is with no extras whatsoever. That seems unreasonable to me, and it's damned disappointing.
Besides, this is the feedback forum. I'm giving them my honest feedback. I took the day off to get in some for honor, but since I'm about 12K short of a hero and steel itself is locked behind times constracts, it appears there's no option except to pay or choose not to. I don't think I will considering how they marketed these "free to all" characters.
That is my feedback. It's absolutely worth saying.
Yep. Just save up your steel. If you did all of the daily orders/bi-daily orders on any given day, that's easily around 2k steel plus match-end steel rewards which would bring one to what... 3k steel? Easily. Even if you can't play every day, it is quite achievable to get 15k steel fairly quickly.
They gave us a free 12-day champion status at the start of the season to help folks get steel faster. Hopefully you've been putting that to use whenever possible.
I have family and a day job, as well, but still can amass steel fairly quickly. The two daily orders should only take 10-20 minutes to do.

Maybe they mentioned it on the forums and patch notes etc, but what percentage of players read every release? They could have mentioned it front and centre on the game news on the main screen. They should have. That's one hell of a caveat.
Doesn't help that their season pass is stupidly expensive, for virtually no unique cosmetic gear, a month of champion status that expires while you're offline, and skipping what turns out to be just as big a paywall as anything else for new chars.
And they didn't tell us in a way most players will see. They will disappoint a LOT of their playerbase today.
Free to play after a month of grinding or $50 to skip the line... So not the same thing as what it said on the front screen all these weeks.
Okay, buried in patch news on on their website. The game has a news section on the main screen. Sure never saw it posted there... A lot of people are going to be bummed when they log in today.Originally Posted by Krell80 Go to original post
Actually, they mentioned it many times in news about the new characters and season on the website and during the Warrior's Den streams (which are recorded for the convenience of folks who don't have time to watch the stream). There were also graphic links from the "home page" in the game at the menu screen to those recorded streams and to patch notes.Originally Posted by SaphironX Go to original post
They shouldn't be expected to do everything for ya, bud. Make the effort to read patch notes. :P
As for your question ad to the percentage of players who read the patch notes: I can't say for certain (nobody can), but I can tell you that anyone remotely interested in the future of the game and information on the game/patch notes for the characters should and do make the effort.
