    teaser analyse...what can we guess

If we consider that these videos show us already the exactly chosen setting, what can we see if we take some deeper look on them :

In the church –video we see in front of the church a water-tank, which seems not a metal one.
On the tower we see already the symbolic of the evil/sect-grouping
The guy who gets in contact with the bell, carries a quite modern jacket and the bell-ringer in a t-shirt has something tied on his back. A gun or a walky.-talky.
On the other hand, we see no car or modern street at all.
There are energy and/or telegraph-lines which won’t be in a small village of Montana before 1910/1920.

In the river-video, the swimming girl is dressed in a typical under-dress of the 19.century.
Anyway, you get such dresses today in every 2nd shop.

The gun-shot in the cornfield-video sounds like a gun sounds today or 150 years ago.
And the soundtrack...well its typical western. What does Ubi wants us to belive ?

So I guess we are going to see a quite modern setting in time but in areas where technology still has not find its way.

You'll find that most religious cults still dress in a old-fashioned kind of way and live their lives in a more traditional style so whilst it may appear old-fashioned it will still be present day IMO

The teasers end by some tense music (before the guitar starts playing). Almost an horror vibe here.

. The Forest teaser definitly has me intrigued: the screaming guy surely gets killed by some scary thing. A grizzly or worse (bigfoot)?
. The River teaser shows big water streams... wonder what will lurk under the surface.
. The Prairie teaser is interesting too. Who's that guy who gets killed? Why?
. The Church teaser is the one that gives me the best "Far Cry" vibe, even though it's the less "wild" setting. You got something that could look totally normal elsewhere, but with a small twist (ringing bells with heads) that turns everything crazy. FC4 had a very similar approach at the dinner table: Pagan invites you and you see the monkey heads on a plate. Even though the trees, foods and dressing are beautiful, you know it's gonna end badly.

So we'll see. I'm hoping for truly disturbed hillbillies living in the woods for some.

EDIT: after a short thinking, I do wonder if the scream in the Forest teaser would not be the same I'd make if I got my foot locked in a bear trap

My 1st thought watching the forest-teaser was also "a trap" caused this guy to scream.
So perhaps we have the opportunity to place traps. Not only to catch wild animals...

    Present or past?

The only thing i want to know is the timeline. PAST or PRESENT. I prefer modern weapons and stuff. I hope it sets in the present age.

Good point. It's interesting to see how things will play out. The 26th is going to be fun

    .
    - Not a water tank, thats a propane tank.... could be used for general power to the building or specifically to heat it.
    - Those are clearly telephone lines, with a transistor on it to boot easily putting this game in the 60's and beyond.
    - You know that was supposed to be a dead body floating down the river right? haha
    - We've plenty of technology in MT... for example i'm on a computer on the internet posting this now. FC3 & 4 were both modern games but technology wasn't really a factor, time period's effect is mostly about what weapons & vehicles we have access to...

My thought about the forest one was that some guy was being murdered in a painful way.... traps are typically designed to either kill instantly, or restrain but keep alive. The scream being suddenly stopped to me implied a short period of intense pain followed by a quick death.
