I won't hide it, I think the Shinobi is bull***t right now and I hate him. I don't want to just complain about a broken character, I love this game and I want to help Ubisoft to change the character so that he becomes fun to use and fight against.
So what do you think Ubi should change to make him better? In the sense to force him to use his whole tool kit and not just turtle and kicking. Here are a few suggestions:
-Nerf the kick: make it punishable somehow. Fix the hitbox (because when I dodge it, it still hits me sometimes), increase the lag if it whiffs like Centurion's punch, remove the armor.
-Remove his free hits after any light/heavy/kick.
-Sickle Rain (if it is the right name): I think you should be able to tech out of it. Not just when the other guy messes up the timing, but that's just my opinion, I wouldn't be mad if Ubi didn't touch it.
-His light attacks look like they're even faster than PK's. If they are, please slow them down.
-The free heavy he gets from his kick shouldn't be able to finish you off.
Whew! ok, my little rant is over, but in all seriousness, I really think Shinobi needs to be fixed. I want to like him as a character, but he far too strong right now. Please give other suggestions on which changes should be applied and I hope Ubisoft will take some inspiration from this to balance the game.
I think Shinobi is still to strong too.
They dont should nerf him to the ground, but his kick is a big issue. And he has to much safe follow ups.
The thing is... I play a lot Conqueror. The only way I can face a shinobi is to turtle. I have to wait till he messes up, or I can dodge something / parry.
In offens I just cant beat him, he will punish every single strike a try to land.
And I definitly think thats was not the attention ubisoft wants... they wanted to open up the fights, not to get even more turtle fights.
I think removing his armor while kicking should do the trick, as if hit, would stagger and stop the kick stunning you. other than that, kick is fast, but i would say its fine.
Because then the only defence would not only be an dodge, but an attack too, that would make this to a whole new mindgame, where shinobi can not do the kick and parry the incoming enemy light attacks... Less op move, more mindgames.
So I play shinobi , pk , zerker and nobushi . Shinobi is completely fine in 1v1s if you stay on your toes and be ready for either the kick or GB whatever she plans to do. It helps if you know her move set that's for sure 1 parry she's pretty much dead . 1 GB she's pretty much dead. She's so weak that zerker out of stam Max punish will kill her from full health OP? No not at all. She has the worst block in the game its so bad that if a heavy is coming at you and you react to early to block will go away by the time it impacts so you 100% have to parry and that means your gonna fall for most heavy faints on the other hand in 4v4 game modes the ranged GB is COMPLETELY broken and needs looking into. If you do get hit by it your guaranteed to get put into sickle rain. And the fact that other people can do heavy while your stuck in that animation without canceling it is broken af. 1v1s fine but 4v4 is broken and the only way to really fix the 4v4 without making her utterly usless in 1v1 would be by adding a hero limit so you can only have 1 hero in 4v4s and making it that if anyone hits you while in sickle rain animation it cancels it. Also on a side note if you block a ranged heavy from shinobi but she's close to you it's a free GB

That said, I have a rep5 Nobushi and will admit that some of the bleeds are a tad over the top, but they are intended to be harassers. So they achieve that very well - even when I play against Nobushi characters, I accept that harassing bleed that they have in many skills.
