I'm going to keep this relatively short and simple;
Centurion needs a buff.
He does also need a nerf.
Buff wise;
He needs more viable options. His kick should be made faster and only chainable into light attacks, (as ALL unblockables should be). Obviously his light-light-heavy combo is fine, as is his light-GB.
However, the kick does need to have less impact on the opponent. It's currently in a 'I've been kicked and now I'm stun locked AND dead' state. That needs to stop (again, as with all unblockables).
Small decrease to cool down after the pounce. That back away taunt just leaves you totally useless for 1 1/2 seconds. Pointless.
His health pool should be increased dramatically.
Nerf wise;
His jab should no longer be a knockdown. It's too easily abused, as with all unblockables (seeing a pattern yet?). The jab should be a chain starter/filler, not an 'instant death button'
Imperial might should be given uninterruptable status, NOT unblockable.
It's stun capability should also be reduced slightly (SLIGHTLY).
i don't have issue with that. that seems pretty reasonable to me.
i agree the kick should have less impact, and that's easily fixed by remove the stun effect.
though not sure about speeding the kick up though, it's pretty quick, especially for consoles
this is coming from someone that does not play the Centurion either
Regarding teh Jab that stuns, it's the tracking that's driving me insane. Rolling back and most of the time I dodge, I still get hit by it. I really think that Jab Stun should be given the Shugoki Demon Embrace treatment where it'll stab exactly where your opponent was standing when you started to charge it.
Centurion has many tools to "wall stun" someone. The stunning jab would be way less abused if it was mostly only usable against wall stunned people or in a 2v1 situation. I really wouldn't mind buffing his kick or any other of his kit if it meant nerfing to oblivion that stun jab. That move alone has made him the king of dominion even with 0 gear score.
wow i agree with that and getting the Knockdown out will dramatically help for 4v4 anti-gank master and like net north said the tracking is crazy good a little adjusment should be fineOriginally Posted by Mudflaaaps Go to original post
Yeah, the tracking is insane.
Although, make it like shugs demon embrace? That sh it tracks me like crazy!
All special moves should have a point of attack with no tracking, but sadly they don't on this game. My biggest hate is berzerkers jump attack hitting me even though I've rolled, dodged, left the game and gone outside. SO much tracking.
1) The kick doesn't grant free heavies so that part is moot. It does need to be a little faster as it is quite easy to dodge (as long as you keep a cool head).Originally Posted by Mudflaaaps Go to original post
2) Light-light-heavy is definitely fine. I don't think anyone has complained about quick throw.
3) I don't know about you but a kick definitely isn't a stun lock, and it sure as hell doesn't kill you. Again, it's easily reactable and you can only start your light-light-heavy chain. You can go for heavy-heavy but I don't find many people falling for that one.
4) Totally agreed. It becomes more of a hindrance in 4v4 than anything else. If I even try to use it I will be hit with a untechable GB.
5) I don't think he needs a massive health buff. I'd like to hear what you mean by a "dramatic increase."
Nerf wise:
6) Only a full charged heavy is a knockdown. Unless you pin someone, you will almost never get this off. If you're struggling with it in 4v4s, treat Centurion like a Shugoki or LB and focus on him. He will only get it off if you he gets you unawares with it. Also I'd hardly call it an instant death button outside of 4v4 modes where you failed to notice him charging it up on you.
7) Imperial Might only becomes unblockable if you fully charge it, and it is easily reactable. Once you learn the timing of it, you will never get hit by it (minus the occasional **** up or lag/connection issues). It does not need a nerf.
8) This would be fine, as long as it is long enough to get a fully charged jab off.
My opinion on the Centurion is he's a little too simple to dodge. Right now he's skating by on a significant share of the playerbase having little or no idea how he works. Once it becomes common knowledge on what you can dodge/what to dodge, I think he'll fall off a lot. If you want his kick and (especially) his punch to be so punishable, make them a little more difficult to get around.
I also think his stamina drain game is too much, and frustrating to play against, and should the stamina drain on his abilities should be decreased.
