Ever since around patch 2 or 3 (got real busy for a few weeks and didn't play; not sure which), every time I go to continue campaign, the game crashes back to the desktop. Every single time. GTX970, latest drivers -- though I've tried a range of drivers going back to January and all have the same problem. Uplay asks to send an error report each time and I click yes, but would love to know what's being sent so I could possibly try to troubleshoot.
So -- video card drivers are updated, latest VBIOS, latest system BIOS, I've verified file integrity, tried running it from both the c: SSD drive where Uplay is installed as well as my platter storage drive. No luck. Nothing has changed in my hardware since it worked fine back at launch, and very little has changed in software except for regular Win10 updates.
Is there anything to try to get this game to work again?

I'm experiencing the same issue.
Before the latest patch, it worked fine. Now, it hard lock before entering the game. this caused my twenty hour save to be corrupted, which is great.
How incompetent are these guys?
The first day, when i installed the game, it worked fine. The next day did not work, the same issue.
What would be the solution?
i found one solution, not the best, but the game still work. I started a new campaign![]()

I am having the same issue with you, been playing the game before but when I tried to play again this week, I could never get into the game (always crashed to windows during the loading screen to in-game).
I have tried the follow with no luck:
1. install latest display drivers
2. verify files integrity
3. re-install the game
4. start a new character

Sorry to hear you guys are suddenly getting these crashing errors. It does seem as though many of you have gone through the basic steps for troubleshooting a situation like this, though haven't found any success in addressing the issue.
In order for us to work towards gathering more information on this occurrence, I ask that everyone experience this please submit a ticket to Ubi Support detailing the issue. Please have your dxdiag and msinfo32 system files attached to your ticket, as this will greatly assist the team in expediting the process.
Well, I messaged in to support and attached the dxdiag and msinfo32 files and a concise description of what I had done so far. Their response was to tell me to do everything that I had already done and to please reply with the dxdiag and msinfo32 files for further help... which I had already attached. I guess I expected too much / something useful after the encouraging words from Ubi-ludex, not just a canned response from a CSR that didn't even try to read the email. Kind of feeling sorry for you guys since you have paid for this game. I myself got it free with my GTX 1080TI with the Nvidia Promo. So im not losing anything tbh. But it still sucks since i do like the game, I was considering buying the DLC BUT im not until they fix this crash to desktop thing. If they ever do.
