One thing that I have noted in the short time playing the Shinobi is that, intentionally or not, ranged attacks happen during combat. I have noticed that, when trying to use a heavy melee attack, the game sometimes enables the ranged aspect of it - causing the issue of not enabling executions on the enemy even if they are in melee range.
Here is my suggestion: If an enemy is killed by a heavy ranged attack by the Shinobi, have it behave similarly to the ranged GB and yank the enemy toward the Shinobi and enable the opportunity to execute them. Their ranged attacks aren't like the bow/javelin feats - they are actual attacks and should have the same capabilities as melee attacks as they can be parried/blocked/deflected like any other attack.
I'm not asking for special treatment of the Shinobi, here, just fair treatment.
Everytime or almsot everytime I try to finish with a normal heavy it usually but not always goes for the ranged one, so yeah, if ranged executions were added that'd make shinobi's charged attack less annoying to use. It needs to be looked into though, sometimes it switches to range when you want to melee them.
What does it matter if they can or can't. It just mean's they'll be able to execute their target. You don't sound like a Shinobi main to totally reject the idea. OP's idea would totally help with completing Contract Orders too as I kill most of my enemies with (sometimes unintended) ranged heavies. And so I miss out of my execution.Originally Posted by SirCorrino Go to original post
I say let's do this!
i feel like that this could get crazy at max range but at "charge level 1" i could get behind that because i have had the same issue as OP where ill be near someone but it'll count as ranged attack maybe could do some special medium range executions of some sort but idk how hard that would be to do for the team.
bottom line i like the idea but it sounds a little nuts at max range
Aye, but remember: The person would already be dead. So for them to either eat dirt or be executed is a fine line that doesn't matter at that point. Also remember that a significant portion of the Shinobi's skills are ranged (compared to an Orochi who are all melee).Originally Posted by HalcyonPyre Go to original post
The Shinobi is also already able to GB folks at max range, so the mechanics are already there for letting the Shinobi grab people from a distance.
Personally, if a Shinobi that I am fighting against managed to get off a ranged execute against me (if this were to be implemented), I'd see little difference between that and a raider sneaking up behind me with their axe and executing me. They can both be blocked the same way and both have equal success chances.
Will this mean that he could still get hit while doing this + the time it take to perform an execution?I'm not against the idea but this could be a little problem.Originally Posted by Zume_Frostpaw Go to original post
