Centurion Guard Switch is Extremely Slow

I have noticed that since I started playing Centurion that my guard switch is terribly slow. This is coming from someone that mains Lawbringer so I know a slow guard switch when I see one. Centurion's switch is WAY slower than Lawbringers, it's either his switch is slow or the game does not recognize that I am blocking in the first place. I have adjusted the deadzone slider on console and it works with everyone else to an extent, but Centurion is completely unaffected. I really want to know if this is by design or if it's a flaw? This whole guard switching speed stuff is rather annoying because on console it makes a few obvious characters nearly impossible to counter or guard against.

It's a design flaw. If you watch the character, the Centurion WILL NOT throw up a guard until he has swapped the weapon from one hand to the other, which is completely nonsensical and impractical in battle. If they wanted him to fight ambidextrously, they should have just made him dual-wield like the PK. As it stands, if you're playing the Centurion and come up against any character with a light spam combo with quick directional change (e.g. Valkyrie, Shinobi, Orochi, Berserker, etc) you're going to get murdered by free attacks every time. Wouldn't be so bad if the Centurion weren't so squishy and slow (his light attacks seems, at least in my experience, slower than Warden strong attacks) and had a better health pool. They need to either fix his guard or give him some Shoguki hyper armor so he can at least trade blows rather than sitting in eternal stun lock.
