So was looking for any news The Division, as it is where my google searches seem to gravitate these days. And came across some articles about Ubisoft's investors meeting. In there it states that they have announced Farcry 5, The Crew 2, Assassins Creed sequel/prequel and South Park will all be releasing at or before March 2018.
I guess where I am going with this is, IF THESE can get a sequel and how announcements are made years ahead of time (ahem ffxv anyone), why can't they (Ubisoft/Massive) throw us a bone here and let us know it's happening?
I mean, me personally would enjoy the game a lot more knowing we are getting some content (actual content/expansion) to hold us over until The Division 2, as opposed to the purgatory existence we are having to go through right now.
P.S- Dang you Ubisoft, my wife is a sucker for Assassans Creed games ><

That still does not give weight to an actual sequel. Anyone can say one thing and do another. Continued support for this game could just be keeping the servers up so you can play, since they are an online-only games. It could mean we will have a couple devs/network admins flip the switch on every morning and write a couple codes for vanity items and call it in for the day. And thats just it, its all speculation. There is nothing on paper committing to it, there is no press release saying "Yes, we are gonna do it". Again I speak for myself, but with online games, if there is no new content; content that keeps you engaged; or the prospect of a sequel, things start to blur and become stale.
P.S- liberator- Your wife loves AC too!!!, jk
I think Ubi-Massive made it clear that no more meaningful content will be provided for TD during their Year Two stream. We're getting some quality of life improvements and some window dressing on the existing content and that's it. No new story missions, no new map areas. For whatever reason they abandoned the idea of providing more content despite their stated intentions of shifting their business model towards a live service type of delivery instead of relying on new releases to generate revenue.
The best we can hope for now is a sequel some time down the road, but it doesn't seem to be any time in the next year.
