Well for the conq, defense IS offense. You're naturally not gonna get anything out of the situation if you resort to purely turtling -- since by now everyone knows not to try heavies on conqs, which leaves only lights to throw around. So a conq that doesn't face much incoming attacks, in turn, don't get to counter said attacks, resulting in even lower damage.

I agree that fighting AS a conq, and AGAINST a conq both usually shows the worst the "turtle meta" has to offer in this game, but that being said, under the current meta it's not weak, nor underwhelming at all. In 1v1s the fight boils down to whether the conq player is disciplined enough to withstand the boredom and keep to his turtling -- and when he does, he's still friggin' one of the toughest opponents to crack open.

Again, I agree its super boring to play a conq, and takes a lot of patience to just mechanically repeat a given pattern.. the conq's essentially a one-trick pony. But it's still one of the best tricks in the game currently.

Redesigning the conq to make it more fun and effective in attacks, will naturally mean some of its defensive prowess -- all the things that makes it the ultimate turtle -- will have to go away... and I'm not sure if you guys fully understand what you are wishing for.

Maybe you guys want a conq with fluid and diverse attack sequences like the cent, coupled with all its natural abilities like the ultimate superior block with shields, the unpunishable (unpunishable to anyone without a dodge-attack), and etc etc.. but that's just gonna make an OP class in game. Something's gotta give.

    Conq is a *****

ATM Conq is a real pain in the ***, the shield bash recovery is way too fast.
When I play Nobushi against a conq, even when i manage to dodge with hidden i get no follow up bcs this ***** *** hero is already recoverd, and he can already dodge and start a new shield bash or just block/parry it's really not funny.
As nobushi u CAN DO NOTHING to even scratch a conq it's ****ing stupid

Thanks for making the point. IMO that's actually both the charm and the curse of being a conq.

The frickin' strong defenses -- just like a towering castle -- is a seasoned conq in combat... and I have a fleeting suspicion that conq-lovers, both hate and enjoy this aspect in a bizarre way.

For instance, if the conq is redesigned to have much more versatile offense and variety of moves to dish out... the shield bash would probably have to be nerfed down hard -- as in much longer recovery delays and basically punished by anyone when it misses.... as well as the superior block property would still stop interrupt all combo attack attempts like it does, but would no longer guarantee free GBs on blocking heavies.

I'm not too confident conq players would like that... up to the point that conq players might actually complain the class is "nerfed down" despite receiving a whole lot more versatile attacks. People usually react more sensitively to loss of defensive/self-preservation capabilities, than to gaining offensive capabilities.
