Please explain what's so OP about it? Been playing Raider since release and unless you can parry lights without flinching or play 100% right in almost every fight you are the underdog. Cancelling heavys into stunning tap has been there all along, they added it for zone and raiders fury, which is good.
Most of the other changes are simply stamina drain which is where Raider shines, and some smaller damage increases on light attacks and knee. Finally!
The Raider buffs do very little...
Will probly raise his win % by 2 or 3% which is what the devs intended.
10 stam - sweet
2 - 5 more dame on lights - Cool
Stunning tap now counts as opener - Ok
Can cancel Za/RF into stunnin tap - Can do 15damage for 80stam ... (not to useful once people get used to it due to 900ms animation and short cancel window)
Fixed carry + Reduced stam cost - Can do max 66 stam drain for 40 stam cost... (if knee did base stam damage this would be alot better but it still auto reduces stam to 20%)
Knee 15 dam - Still dependent on wall management, better off planning for SH/TH. Chance to drain enough stam to do a 50/50 oos but you'll be oos too
You're right, I can't look at his patch notes without laughing... laughing at how bad the buffs are.Originally Posted by JayyRupp Go to original post
1) Stunning tap out of zone is pretty much worthless. At best, it's a way to get a little bit of damage (which costs you a ****ton of stamina). At worse, you open yourself up to having your light parried and popping your own stam and eating a free heavy.
2) Stunning tap from any heavy doesn't really help that much. Unless chip damage becomes a legit thing, you can still focus on blocking and be safe against Raider.
3) Stampeding charge buffs were nice, but it's hitbox is so clunky that its hard to call it a substantial buff.
I think the only good things that happened was a small increase to his max stam and that stunning tap can start chains now. We'll have to see how nerfs to the defensive meta will affect him though. He has potential now, but the meta has to change a bit to even give him a chance to shine.
Because he doesn't have anything that's safe and that's what high level is. All of his attacks are slow and easily parriable and in this turtle meta defense is king. It's not hard to see why he's crap, the only people who think he's okay are generally people who are at the lower levels where tiers don't really matter to begin with.Originally Posted by ZLiGhoSt Go to original post
