I freely admit to not being a game programmer, but I still don't understand why they couldn't just make a "New Game +" mode that resets the map to a pre-game state and lets us keep our gear / unlocks and lets us choose the difficulty mode.
Throw in these new soldiers and weapons as an option when you hit reset call it "You willl Die!" Difficulty.
still this DLC at least sounds interesting so I'll wait the week after season pass suckers get it to listen to reviews, and then decide if its worth getting.
I would be even happy with going INTO a safe house to 'talk to' Bowman to load a DLC, with our base character carrying over so it feels like the DLCs are actually part of the game.... A cinematic as the loading screen for the transition over..Originally Posted by KagatoAC Go to original post
If it is not tied into the main campaign and my original character I wont be playing it, it is that simple for me. I don't care if they give this new game everything my previous character has. I don't care for these 10 mission side campaign. I'm looking for DLC that will build upon, fix and make better what already exists.
I do hope it's good because I know a lot of you bought the season passes and you deserve your money's worth.
I going to give it a bit more time but I'm close to calling this game dead and removing it from my PC.
I'm reserving final judgement until it comes out and I see some gameplay footage. I'm not in a hurry to play it myself as it hasn't really grabbed me. In terms of missions it seems very much like the base game (which is good, but I'd like it to be better than the base game if I'm going to fork out more money for it).
If the mission was simply to survive without any ammo crates to resupply at and unable to change my loadout weapons on the fly and get to the border or to a new extraction point, that would have grabbed me more.
The fact that we have to start a new character (who is automatically level 30 with all skills maxed out) is a negative in my books. We should have at least been allowed to import our old character (skills, clothes, and loadout), or shoehorn it into the main game via a pop-up box or cutscene like we got with the final campain mission. The cloaking devices don't really fit the reality of the base game and feels out of place in my opinion - this isn't set in the future. Meh.
On the plus side, there's maybe six actual new weapons, not just reskins of existing ones.
I hate being negative, but it seems like another bit of a missed opportunity for a really great addon. I hope that I'm wrong, though, and it turns out to be a good, if not great, addon. I shall wait for the gameplay and actual reviews, though.
This is also what I was expecting. More like a survival mode. However it sounds a lot like the base game with added new enemies, weapons and skills. Which isn't bad. But a survival type of game mode which forces you to overcome difficulties without many resources and weapons would've been a lot more challenging and new.Originally Posted by Sera.. Furthermore, apart from 15 new missions, and the weekly 'challenges' I was expecting it to provide more replay value where missions aren't just completed within 10-15 minutes.
Looks like fun nevertheless. And 100 times better than Narco Road. At least this DLC is in the right direction and is fitting the Ghost Recon universe and the Tom Clancy title.
So you haven't bought Narco Road?Originally Posted by SOLIDSOUTHCENTRA Go to original post
Can you please state why you didn't buy Narco Road but look forward to buying this one?
Just so the devs get the message...
I feel the same way. We should be able to use our characters and it be setup like TD Survival. I'll wait and see what happens and if it is like what I read, I'm gonna trade my copy off for something else.Originally Posted by D34dwr0ng Go to original post
