We have one (well two, different rulesets) similar called rugby, no armour and they don't stop except for half time >.>Originally Posted by alustar24 Go to original post
Everything I've seen about rugby makes sense, it honestly feels like a couple Americans were like, "Hey I've got this idea for a game!"Originally Posted by CandleInTheDark Go to original post

Yeah we have rugby league and rugby union. I am not an expert but the main difference is that in rugby league you have five tackles to get it as far down the field as you can, rugby union, you have to let go when you are tackled and it is on you to be facing your own team's side of the field when you go down as no team can step the other team's side of the ball in that time. Main differences they both have to american football are no passes forward (kicks though) and you actually have to ground the ball and be in control of it, pressing the ball into the floor, as you do.Originally Posted by alustar24 Go to original post
The point system for American football is where I fall off, I don't get the field goal kick, doesn't seem to fit a real risk/reward scenario.Originally Posted by CandleInTheDark Go to original post
Awesome you got a touch down, now go get this player who doesn't do **** the whole game but come out once to kick the ball. But it's ok, the chances of him missing are like 1 in 25 at worst?
And don't even get me started on over time! Who on their right mind decided, "So we put a whole extra quarter on the clock, right? But it's sudden death."
Why even bother putting time on the clock of your not going to even play out that whole quarter?

You have that with the kicking in rugby as well but the ball is placed at the width of the pitch the ball was grounded. So if your team scores under the posts, that's an american football extra point with no one running to block, if they scored all the way on the wing, well the good kickers without the wind screwing them over can get probably seven in ten, international level kickers would have to be looking at nine. And the guy is on the pitch the whole time, he isn't likely to be the toughest but he still does his part. Anyhow this has steered waaaaaaay off topic lol, so um...ganks can be beat if you are smart, I have 1v3'd several times yesterday and today.Originally Posted by alustar24 Go to original post
