Plain and simple if your the last man alive and your facing 1-4 people the game gives you the tools to deal with attacks from multiple opponents. It's not to say that outplaying 4 different people that have 4 times the amount of damage output and health then you is easy because it's not and it never should be. Here's the issue however or rather a combination of issues. Lets take the Wardens basic shoulder bash as an example if it connects you are staggered backwards and the Warden gets a guaranteed follow up this in a 1v1 context is strong but overall fair and balanced. After all you could of dodged out of the bash and punished the Warden player for trying to bash you. In gank situations these moves as well as the basic guard-break reach an entire new level of overpowered and broken. Lets say your the Warden and your being ganked by another Warden a Warlord and a Valkyrie. If you try to dodge the other Wardens shoulder bash he can cancel it and gb you if there is a wall now he can stun you further by throwing you into said wall and now all 3 players can hit you with a top heavy effectively instantly killing you. But lets say somehow you live well now you have the Warlord spamming his headbut at you and that staggers you and as you were staggered the Valkyrie decided to stab you with a light and go into her shield bash well guess what now your staggered again. Alright still not dead now the warden tries to bash you again you dodge this time and go for a gb you get the gb and try to punish the Warden for using shoulder bash but the Warlord headbuts you again and stabs you. Again your staggered but this time the Valkyrie decides to use her sweep on you while you were being staggered by the Warlord. Now your on the ground completely defenseless to multiple heavies. This is long and convoluted because fights don't ever last this long you get staggered once or twice and you get killed. Problem is even if you avoid these moves that cause you to be "stun locked" you can't punish any of the people ganking you because the next person is already throwing another attack or "stun-lock" chain at you. This is broken and leads to an incredibly poor game-play experience for everyone involved. The players ganking you at the moment may have had a laugh until next round they were subject to the same cheese. The solution is simple when a player is in revenge mode make the player completely immune to all knockdowns and or "Stun lock mechanics". Seriously revenge was broken in the past but it needed to be to keep up with the level of cheese people pulled while ganking everytime. Now revenge is a shell of what it once was and the ganking problem hasn't been addressed AT ALL. Fix this please Ubisoft. I love this game but everytime I get ganked I die a little inside.
I'm gonna go with... no. The days of group fighting just to farm and abuse revenge are thankfully over.
IMHO, revenge is fine where it is, it doesn't need any more functionality added to it. The advantage should never be with the outnumbered in a group fight, and the whole 'I can't survive a 1v4' thing shouldn't even be an issue. If you're 1v4 vs competent players, you're dead, and deserve to be, unless you outskill them significantly.
You're kind of advocating the removal of disabling moves in group modes. What about the shughug? The LB flip? The conq charge? Even the raider's snatch and grab? or would you prefer it if players attacked you using only moves you nominate and deem acceptable?
