So the sidedash attack called in the game SWIFT ATTACK is supposed to be the counter to the shield bash of the warlord. But is it? Is it really?
https://youtu.be/Kw9-YZW9zoU
In the clip is a youtuber playing as kensei, dodges a warlords headbut and does a dash attack. Because the swift strike is sooo slow the Warlord manages to recover no problem before the dash attack gets to him. Blocks it. Gets a free GB and there goes the kensei off the ledge. How is this ok again? It's like rock paper scissors only scissors get beaten by rock and paper.
Someone said that the swift strike is unsafe on block because people are not supposed to be spaming it. What's wrong with spamming it? It's super slow and get therefore parryed most of the time. You can also bait it with a feint and then parry it. Basically, t's like super easy to counter.
Is it in the same league as wardens ZA? which is the quickest attack in the game? Well, hardly since swift strike takes like twice as much time to pull off.
If someone actually thinks the swift strike beying punishable on block by GB is OK please state in your comment if you are a console player. I strongly suspect that the console player community is in favour of this broken mechanic since theyr reaction time is limited by the 30fps lock. The game should be balanced differently on consoles and on the PC.
I want to address the way Ubisoft is evaluating the balance of the classes AKA their win/loss ratio. This is not the way to go. If a class get flocked by a horde of noobs like the PK or some other upper tier class is and they start losing because all they basically do is light spam that is seriously devaluing your statistics. There are also the lower tier of classes that are actively shuned by the noobs(Raider, Kensei, Berserker, Nobushi) - at least on PC. You should consult people experienced with fighting games and not just monitor what is trending and what not. Also as stated above some moves can be usefull on the console version while they are totally useless on the PC version which affects class balance respectively but ubisoft puts all versions in the same statistics basket and puts out the same balance patches on all systems.
Hi there !
Devs do not give a **** to fix the kensei ...
The kensei is the least played hero and now with the two new heroes coming up the amount of players runing the kensei will be even smaller ...
So forget that they fix the kensei ... they will only continue with the win / loss ratio, without understanding the limitations of this character front of the others.
If only they tried to see the kensei in 1v1 they would realize that their win / loss ratio is crap.
Those who play the Kensei, we have posted tirelessly that they should review few things:
A decent opening combat move , our area attack does not exist, our heavy attacks are extremely slow and very easy to block with a high stamina penalty, and the recovering time from parry mostly causes a free gb from our opponent.
Light attacks and (Swift Strike) practically do not apply damage to become our opening combat and can not be used to break the defense of almost none shielded opponent.
Our top light was improved. But the kensei's top light attack is better known than rice we eat, and it becomes difficult to use it to start our chain.
So most all time .. This forces me to play in defensive mode, to avoid a counterattack from which I can not defend myself because I have been blocked in the previous move.
To the above adds an opponent with possibilities of total block, spam push + ligth attak, infinity shield push, or simply an opponent who carries us from one point to the end of the map and throws us down in a hole, without hit us once. ..
This makes the 1v1 a little enjoyable ...
In the mix of 4v4 the shortcomings are better concealed by companions and extra help ... But having in a faction a hero who practically can not participate of duels 1v1, does not seem fair.
But anyway as I mentioned, the Kenseis user community is not the biggest in the game and I do not think that the devs take into account this kind of requests .... seen it seen ...
regards friends...
It's a light attack, so no. Not unless you want to open the can o' worms of making all lights feintable (oh, how PK's and Valks would enjoy that).Originally Posted by Chucky_Jones Go to original post
Ah yes, this is a lovely show of the "pathetic" Kensei is. Not only can't he open people up. No, his kit doesn't even work as intended. This little clip and the reaction of the player sums it up so freakin fantastically. Well, i will just post this onto the "general" section. Even if it might already be there (dunno), poor Kensei deserves the attention. Hope you are fine with this ^^
Sure. No problem.Originally Posted by Herbstlicht Go to original post
