Reworking current emote system and adding "high five" option.

    Hi.

I know that everyone is now focused on fixing the defensive meta and core mechanics of the game but when we will fix it, I thought about other things which devs could potentially improve without introducing whole new modes but just by modify some parts which we already have.

The first change concerns our current emote system. I really don't see a good reason why we are limited only to 4 emotes while being in game. Beside that, I also don't like direction which devs took while creating the emotes. They try to keep focus to make them look cool, but I have an impression that in efforts to create them inventive and funny, the whole purpose of emotes has been lost somewhere in a production. I'm talking here about the fact that a lot of emotes, despite the fact that they look cool, they don't carry any message to the second player. You know, I really laughed when I saw for the first time shugoki singing to his mace but when someone used it in game, I had no idea if he wants to provoke me, say that it was an easy fight or maybe invite me to karaoke on voice chat? That's what I don't like about some emotes.

I always admired how Dark Souls handled communication between players without any chat build in game. You could pretty much show your attitude toward second player by using only gestures. I think that ability to have much more emotes in For Honor, which would be generalized for each of the characters, would be pretty beneficial for the players and devs.

Why for the players? I think most of us would like to wave "hello" to the enemy at the start of the duel or show "follow me" to find a place futher from the edges. The game was easy AF? Make the emote like orochi has with his katana drop for each character.

Why for the devs? More emotes - more steel players gonna spend. If we could pick up more than 2 to use in game, there would be a reason to buy all of them instead of just two which you want to use. Some of the basic emotes like "hi" could use more than one character, for example, knights would be waving, samurais bowing, vikings roaring.

But how do we fit all of those emotes on our pad? I think the best known solution is just to assign one button which if pressed, pops up a window with emotes to choose. That's how it is in Dark Souls and works. Second idea which in my opinion could improve the immersion and would be a cool feature to add is something like "high five" system. I had so many situation on XvX modes where I fought with my teammate arm by arm and after pulling out amazing victorious fight, I wanted so much to fistbump with my teammate. It'd be awesome if we could do that!

    How it would work?

Make any of the button which if holded, character stops, makes for a short period of time a pose of "waiting for highfive/brofist/whatever" and if the second player approaches and clicks "x" button the interaction proceeds. To encourage people to use it, bumping brofist with someone who assisted you with a kill, would add some slightly extra exp to feats. Such system was used in uncharted 3 multiplayer and passed the exam. We could expand the idea futher and devs could make a lot of animations for brofist/high fives/whatever and sell them like emotes.

Let me know what you think about those ideas and how you feel about current emote system.

Fun idea and I would like to see it to possibly take some of the salt out of the game. Like break dancing or a guitar solo for hero's with pole arms. I would also love to make a heart sign with my hero's hands or a thumbs up to the respectful players to show respect and a bit of comedy and also would probably piss off salty players
