Mixed Couples - or Human Shields? The new DZ Trend

Last night I was playing in a team of four - it's rare, but it does happen. After completing the daily missions and LZ daily activities, one member suggested we go into the DZ for the Daily DZ Assignment. OK, so we did.

Whilst there, we encountered three separate "groups" of Rogues, and all three had this one thing in common:

They ran in soft-groups of varying sizes, mixed with rogue agents and non-hostile agents together, so that when you attack the rogue with any type skill, you will yourself actually go rogue - and then they seek to kill you as rogue, gaining the credits and leader board scores

And, they use the soft-group dynamic so that one member of the group will shoot another member of the soft-group enough to invoke rogue protocol so that they show up as rogue on the map and attract nearby agents.

Of course, because of my favorite TCTD DZ shortcoming (other agents don't show as threats on mini-map), you only see the rogue agents (RAs) on the map, and not the other 4 non-hostile agents (NHAs) hiding in their midst waiting to ambush you.

While I will admit it is clever, the lengths that these people go to will never cease to amaze me.

Side note: I just stood off to the side on top of a sea crate and watched the whole "RA & NHA soft group" vs newly RA (my group) chicken dance in the street. damn that whole thing is stupid. but in the end, after the 8-man soft group killed the other 3 on my team, sure enough they came over and shot me, although I clearly had demonstrated no intent to play in their stupid reindeer games.

So, in the theme of yesterday's emote discussion, I sure would like to have a "one finger salute" emote for such occasions. Is that possible? Can we get that? I'm sure it would be the most used emote in the game.

It's not new it's been going on for ages. I've been on both sides of that. Ones fun, one isn't.

When i got the 'I am the law' game achievement I was in a multi group. Had i of known I was in a multi group I wouldn't of shot my team mates. It didn't last for long because the others got server transferred when some else joined. And getting everyone back together again is a headache.

As bothersome as multi grouping is, being in one is so much fun.

And to the haters. Talk to the ✋️Coz the 🤓 ain't listening.

This has been happening for a while now, yet apparently PvP in this game takes skill. Between poor server performance and broken machanics, this games PvP is a joke. I normally enjoy watching pvP play in other games to, but I cannot watch TD. It's painful to say the least.

The DZ needs a complete overhaul, which will not happen. It's a broken mess at the minute.

fast travel to another part of the DZ and don't bother looking for rogues when doing daily missions. hell don't look for rogues for any reason now because of the bs they do.

Haha, yes. My approach is I don't usually carry any loot when doing the weekly hunting by myself, I don't respond to RA attacks and most importantly I give a damn about losing my DZ rank

Go to Dz solo so that you don't have to worry about going rouge unless you actually shoot.

The Rogue timer mechanic is flawed and easely abused...

    We know that since launch.

Hell, the whole Rogue system is flawed...
From top of DZ09 i can see that there is a little guy that got a 19 seconds Rogues timer in DZ01, and i have no clue that a freaking MANHUNT is ongoing in DZ08 before i get close enough to it...

Houu, that gives me an idea...

The higher your Rogue status is, the farther you can see it on the map.
Rogue 1 : just if you are in the zone
    Rogue 2 : current zone +1 away
    Rogue 2 : current zone +2 away
    Rogue 4 : current zone +3 away
    Manhunt : ALL DZ

usually the "just go to a different zone" works well enough. Its a PITA that I have to because of some immature jerks, but whatever. However, when the daily is "10 Rioters", well, there is only one area of teh DZ map where you will find Rioters DZ01/02 - coincidentally, also where the majority of the Rogues hang out looking for solos and noobs.

I have pretty much decided that there is nothing in a Daily DZ Assignment cache that is worth the aggravation. I mean, seriously, do I need another set of "Operator Gloves" to sell and add to my 200 million credits?

I have an improvement to the rogue mechanics and a complete 'bro shield' fix. What i'm about to say won't help in cluster **** situations, but it can still be used frequently in the DZ. It is also a mechanic that already exists in the game and doesn't completely change how things work in the DZ.

The ability to mark players as friendly - so they don't take damage. Can be toggled on/off by the player by hovering their cross-hair over said target and pressing a button to highlight them.

Say the friendly player you just marked/highlighted as friendly shoots at you. This player is now rogue and the marker automatically vanishes.

It's so easy it's ridiculous. Point, click and let rip. No more bro shield. No more accidental rogue when dealing with the bro shields and the mechanic as already there. You can already highlight targets the exact same way.

Great advice, I am going to try that! Thanks!
