    Auction disguised as a contest

This contest is a con job. It is impossible to win these tracks without spending gems and the final track is just an auction see who will pay the most to get one track.

To get that last track you need to be in the top 5 percent of egg collectors. Translated in to reality, that means the people who are willing to spend/buy to spend the most gems for respins on the prize wheel to get the bonus eggs.

This is all a trick. Many of us were disappointed that we were expected to pay 400 gems for a couple of tracks in the tier 2 Halloween track bundle. For me that would have been 200 gems per track as I already had 3 of the 5. I was not willing to pay that KNOWN PRICE.

What we have here is a track auction disguised as a contest to hide how many gems these tracks will cost and even worse that cost won't be uniform. Some people will pay substantially more for these tracks because the majority of the eggs will come from the prize wheel requiring respins at an ever increasing cost.

I call BS on the trickery and on top of that, this isn't even really fun. I'm not interested in a game that wants me to play every six hours when "playing" is driving stupidly slow to find an egg then spend 20 minutes trying to creatively crash so you can potentially fall into where the egg was stuffed. Oh and because the eggs frequently require "lucky crashing" it will make the egg spot on the prize wheel smaller and harder to land on so you'll need to spend more gems on respins to get the absolutely required prize wheel gems.

I'd say this "contest" was pretty sneaky but that would be giving it too much credit for actually being a contest when it definitely is not. It's a 20 day cash grab combined with a test to find who is willing to pay the most for a track.

I look at it from a different angle. IF I had missed this event and RL released the 7 tracks in a pack for 600 gems, I would definitely jump on board.

I figure that 600 gems will be more than enough to get into top 5% (iOS). Android users are screwed...either you cheat to get the necessary resources or you play fair and get destroyed. Or RL magically bans the cheaters at the end of the event and rewards fair play while simultaneously wasting the cheater's 21 days of "effort" (HA!)

During the event I feel that I should be willing to spend up to 600 gems to get the tracks NOW rather than wait until RL maybe possibly releases the tracks in future. And at least I can have some fun with my 600 gems...finding and grabbing the eggs is actually pretty fun once you learn to ignore the disgusting deepest-pockets-wins side of this event.

There are android users who actually spend money and i am one of them. Being on android and having thousands of gems does not makes you cheater. RL just needs to check if sum of income gems are equal to the sum of spent gems for each player. I don't know if technically this is possible and how complicated it could be, but what i know from experience is that when your software deals with real money you must provide the reports for catching unbalanced sums.

True, and nobody has a problem with that; spending is a personal choice. And if you throw your gems at this you WILL win everything and have some to spare for sure. But many of the guys around you on that LB will have hacked there way there and will be taking up a deserving place that those who dont/wont spend ... should have instead. We know PTW is what this game is about, and its tough enough beating deep-pocket guys without also dealing with the cheaters/hackers.

That's true, I feel really bad for the legit Android folks (whether they pay money or not).

I'm sure it's not an easy problem to solve, otherwise RL would have fixed it by now. Cheaters doubly hurt the bottom line by (a) not paying for anything and (b) unbalancing the game so much that many legit players have no incentive to spend money. All conjecture on my part, of course

Very well put! I mean, so far, 3 out of 5 times the bonus eggs on the poor wheel (when they show up) are in quantities of 2. Add that to the 1 egg you have to find, and that's 3 eggs every 6 hours. Yet to unlock all tracks - and I'm not even including the bonus track here - you need *360* eggs. That's 120 egg hunts. At a max of 4 tries a day, (assuming you wake up in the middle of the night for one attempt) it'll take a full 30 days to get 360 eggs. This was a very poorly thought out contest, unless the aim was to piss off their player base as much as possible.

It's easy to spot people who hack gems if they have millions. And yeah, this event is just lame as hell. Great attempt to get us to spend our gems. It's a good thing I hoard them, but I will probably be out several hundred, if not over 1000 by the end of it I assume.

Fusion's lame attempt at micro transactions was a bust for RL so they will fleece the Frontier community with these, I love the OPs description, Auction Events. Maybe this company will reward a fan base that's rewarded them beyond what they deserve. If they were to ever have an event that truly didn't cost a thing I would delete the game because I would assume I was hacked. Hell, they still haven't released the tracks the people did not get from the Treasure Hunt and they screwed up with that event so not everyone got the tracks.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I agree with op, but would like to include another frustration. I over time have developed a semi-accurate loot wheel spin. But when a gold egg shows up, the wheel is all over the place. I have tested it(like a dummy) and payed to respin a golden egg 13 times. Every time the wheel spins but will either magically speed up or slow down and miss the egg spot completely. Over and over. I can get the bronze egg pretty consistently. So again, I agree with the op. But not just for this reason. And this is not the first time I've felt or expressed that this game is designed to make a player pay out the nose, but I have yet to see any fine print confirming this.

Agree with the OP. Yes this is unfair, but this game isn't supposed to be fair anyway. So it's not a big deal.
