Didn't want to foul up the egg location thread with this so making a new one. A new egg every 6 hours for 21 days (assuming you never sleep) will only net 84 eggs. It takes at least 360 eggs to get all track pieces and there's no telling how many it will take to get Rabbit Hell. That's an average of 18 eggs/day. It's going to take a lot of loot wheel eggs to get there. So far I've seen a 3 egg section on the wheel and a 12 egg section. I didn't spend gems for respins on the 3 egg section but I spent about 20 gems respinning for the 12 egg section. Between respins and/or timer buy-downs, this event has the potential to really bite into the gem supply. Right now I only plan to spend gems on loot wheel sections of 10 or more and no timer buy-downs. We'll see how that pays off. Might have to re-think as the event goes on. Anyone else want to share their strategy for getting to 360 and beyond?
How about we all start 10 fake accounts and bump the numbers to increase the 5% pool?Originally Posted by DMac3221 Go to original post
I'm seriously torn about this event. Finding stuff (eggs in this case) should be fun, not stressful. The hard limit (360 eggs) I can deal with. If the 5% was skill-based, I could live with that...but it's clear that gems (and therefore $$) will be king of the event. This event will be bad enough on iOS. Android....who can hack the most?
I'm in!Originally Posted by Sardius77 Go to original post
Good idea (although I just finished the math too, and posted it there).Originally Posted by DMac3221 Go to original postWish I had thought of this.
Another way to look at the loot wheel eggs aspect...you will need at least 276 from Loot Wheel (if you get 84 from the hunts). If you get 12 eggs from winning one loot wheel slice... thats 23 wins out of 84 tries on the loot wheel! to reach 276. Very nasty odds there. Like you said, this is designed to eat our gems.
Ouch! I hadnt seen the 3 egg section yet. Thats not good for us at all....So far I've seen a 3 egg section on the wheel and a 12 egg section
Only idea I have had..... usually the size of the loot wheel slices are based on our speed/performance on the track. So maybe you can increase your spin chances by making the slice larger.. by finding the piece and then restarting the track and trying to get gold/plat (as best as you can, anyway... some eggs require you to die... maybe multiple times... to get them). I was able to get a Gold on one of them. . .
I like your idea of skipping gems for any 3-egg loot wheel slices. Maybe whenever that occurs, its cheaper in the long run to spend 15 gems to get a new egg hunt right away (that might give you a 12-gem slice) instead of waiting 6 hours?
I like this one. My two egg finds have both ended with a bronze and I didn't even think of trying to go back for a better time. I think it will help the odds quite a bit if I can get a gold/plat. Good call!Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
I just changed my topics OP to point to this topic for Egg Collection Strategy; thanks for starting it (seems like we will all need all the strategy we can get to not lose all our gems)![]()
Over 50 riders already have 50+ eggs! Ugghh! Have to decide if I want to let the gems fly to keep up or just set my sights on 360 and call it good. On the one hand, the gems have only one purpose - spending them! On the other hand, it's taken so long to build up the 2k I have, I'm reluctant to let them go!
Being very strategic is a wise choice indeed.
The odds of us having to use gems is 100% in order to hit EVERY prize, but the fact that we need every egg possible gives every one of us a better chance to hit the Top 5% and 360 Eggs but yet it's already all becoming such a heavy chore.
IT IS possible to have 4 goes of getting Eggs, but it doesn't mean we can't get any sleep and having to be up for 24 hours, but for 18 hours... 1 go at the start, wait another 6 hours and again and again. But then leaving you with 6 hours sleep, but having to do that constantly for 3 weeks ISN'T a good idea. For most of us, we would only get THREE goes a day, meaning that the odds already disintegrate... It's either 3 goes or 4 goes with 6 hours sleep. And we need our sleep... We can't actually expect to have a go every 6 hours just for this, can we?!?!?!? But for those who are willing to get every chance possible and lose out on 2 hours less sleep then the typical average person, go for it, but I actually wouldn't recommend it, but if you want every chance possible...
I have found my 1st Egg on Desert Gondola, here is a tip... Get the Egg, then restart the track to get that critical Platinum, once you've found and collected the Egg, you don't have to get it again. (I might be wrong here, I found my Egg beneath the starting point, got the Egg, restarted on the starting point, and the Egg didn't reappear, meaning that I didn't have to collect it again, but I don't know if it would be like that anywhere else on the track.) And that Platinum will give you better odds on getting whatever Eggs are on the Loot Wheel. I have had 2 Eggs on the Loot Wheel and typically the odds were massive. With me being lvl 50, and having the Enforcer outfit and the Platinum medal obtained, it gave me about a 69% chance of me getting 2 Eggs (22?/32 sections covered by the 2 Egg prize.) (68.76% to be exact, if it was 22 sections covered by the Egg prize...)
It also means that the more Eggs as a prize on the Loot Wheel, the lower the odds, typically. I think to get every Egg possible from the Loot Wheel might be a good idea, but I actually wouldn't use gems up unless it was 12 Eggs or 6 Eggs (If that is a prize is on the Loot Wheel.) If it's 2 or 3 Eggs, don't use gems, but see how it goes. But if there is 12 Eggs on there, consider it, 12 Eggs is massive. Getting every Egg counts, and every little helps, but missing out on 2 or 3 Eggs isn't the end of the world if you miss out on it.
However, I would consider playing it by ear and see how it goes. It's only just started, however if 2 weeks have passed and the amount of Eggs you have obtained is somewhat lacking, then use the last 7 days to use gems to get them. To get 360 Eggs is already a pain, but at the 2 week point, the Top 5% barrier could even be more than 360 (it may not be, I don't have a crystal ball, mind you...), but those who do have 360 Eggs might stop collecting them, but also depending on the position. I would also say that the number of players then would be a lot more than any of you could expect. It could be 500K as an example, or maybe around that, who knows... But 5% of that is 25000, which doesn't seem as bad as this point in time when there's over 12000 players (I wanted it to be OVER 9000...) and the Top 5% mark is at 600th place with 13/14 Eggs?!? But I expect it to be calmer than that as soon as each day passes, so keep an eye out on the leaderboards. I expect a lot of players to be struggling here as well, and I also expect it to be a battle of who has the most gems, in which the majority of players won't have.
In this case I will use gems but only in the last week or so, or on the 12 Egg prize on the Loot Wheel. I'm only going for 3 attempts a day, not 4. Not worth spending 15 Gems on early refreshes. I'll try to get as many chances as I can to get Eggs. It won't be 84, so for me it would be 75% of that, so that's 63 maximum. I'm also trying to minimize gem consumption in the process too, but if I have to, so be it...
Go for Platinums, get the Enforcer outfit, get to a decent lvl (which probably isn't necessary for me to say, but mentioning it anyway), to boost your chances on getting Eggs on the Loot Wheel, all of those are relevant factors to boost chances.
Might be wise using those gems on respins early, so that you are ahead and you know you won't need to panic at the time, so that strategy isn't a bad one either.
Might keep myself updated here... Hope all this helps somehow. Cheers.![]()
Sooooooo..... My wait time was up for a new egg and I got a pop up saying it was ready. I went in to the event page but as soon as I did the 6 hour timer just started over and it didn't even give me a chance to see any tracks, much less search them. So much for strategy!![]()
Yeah, looks like the timer is borked!! I turned notifications off a while ago, so just booted the game up about 20.30 and should have had the next hunt available (first one was done about 13.00) but instead was greeted with a timer of 4hours 48mins left, so it looks like it has run out and started again.Originally Posted by DMac3221 Go to original post
I was thinking about the strategy earlier and as xitooner and heaverbeaver have said, you can probably only get 3 goes in a day, meaning 63 eggs over 21 days. I may be wrong here but is this the first event where it is a requirement to spend gems (and a lot of them at that!) to make the target??
I think my strategy might be to just not bother!
This is the first year I have been missing tracks (think it's 10 now), leaderboard score doesn't work. I made only one purchase, during the first Halloween event and instantly regretted it when the devs said they had no plans to release those tracks. They changed their minds, but I have always believed that tracks should be available to everyone, since they are integral to the global score. Nothing's changed and it probably never will.
I fear this may be the end of the road with the trials games for me, HD and Evo were brilliant, Fusion didn't feel right and I never purchased, Frontier scratched the itch but there are so many layers of crap, I can't see a game anymore. And I fear some of it will seep into the next console/pc version.
I don't know, I'm torn between putting this game to bed or spending what gems I have and seeing what comes of it. I've always managed to avoid spending them in past events, especially the midnight circuit, but there's no avoiding it this time.
Apologies for the rant, probably not the right thread for it.
